most people will recommed the solicitor or barrister that they have had personal experience with.
just because you dont read the name of your lawyer here, doesnt mean they are not good
remember its a small network of ppl who post here, and most of the lawyers can be friends too
i still think the best in london are
Rizvan Anwar ( www.arcadianlaw.com )
and
Gerry McDonald ( www.ebrattridge.com )
Rizvan Anwar used to be at Ebr but he is now else from what i could see online
Gerry is still at EBR but is harder to get hold of, i think he now prefer ppl contact his mobile direct
Barristers are also a very specialist thing, and most solicitors have a few that they prefer to use.
there are some up and coming solicitors who are being talked in good terms of now as well
Shabaz Ahmed ( www.edwardsduthie.com )
Shawn Murphy ( www.edwardsduthie.com )
Nancy Davies ( www.mallets.com )
i expect most ppl will come and say go to chris go to chris, he is highely praised on here, but i urge everyone to CONTACT the lawyers themselves.
When you are faced with these kind of charges you NEED to go with someone who UNDERSTANDS you, and YOUR circumstances.
I might perfer Rizvan Anwar, because he keeps things simple and gets results. But you might prefer a lady, like Nancy Davies, who is again, very competent and gets results.
DON'T BE A SHEEP. do your own talking to your lawyers. Meet your advocate, QC, everyone.
Remember, its harder on appeal, so do it right the first time you can.
I been away for a while, but thought I should come back. Heard lots of good things about the people I have recommend, and am happy for the positive feedbacks they get. If i can help one person on her,e it is a good result.
good luck and be luckyRecommended Solicitors --- www.arcadianlaw.com

Appealing or prevention of a Civil SOPO
I've just come back from London after a meeting with a client and a solicitor I hadn't heard of until last week.
Client released from prison nearly three years ago, five year licence, and Register police wanted to slap a civil SOPO on him.
He's paid £5K plus privately and has recently been told that he is eligible for legal aid. I made enquiries and eventually found the solicitor I am about to recommend. I was very much impressed with the communications he has already made between the magistrates court and the prosecutor. The letters to them were fully comprehensive and he acted swiftly in response to certain things happening in the periphery. Believe me, some letters I've seen written by solicitors leave a lot to be desired!
The fabulous new find is
Paul Legg

He also works on criminal Appeals and does trials legally aided. I have no experience of his work in that field, but if what I witnessed today is anything to go by, I'm thinking he will be great.People Appealing Convictions of Sexual Offences ~http://www.pacso.co.uk

Highly recommended - Ian Lawrie QC
I cannot put into words the quality and effort this man Mr Ian Lawrie QC puts into his work.
Through out my 2 year ordeal he has been a beacon for my wife and I.
He and I would be going through statements and evidence till late at night... 11-12pm
His presence in court is respected and jury's just listen to what he has to say..his charming and friendly approach to his clients is first class..
I wouldn't have anyone else represent me..
Head of chambers of 3PB, Mr Ian Lawrie QC - A class of his own.

Best team ever
I just want to share the names of the sol and barrister who represented my partners father last week in court and successfully defended him. He was found unanimously not guilty (and justly so) on 12 historic sexual abuse charges. Hilary Doherty a sol working with ITN Solicitors supported him (and us) throughout the last 12+ months. She was fantastic and very patient. http://defendingfalseallegations.co.uk/
The barrister Charles Evans http://15nbs.com/?portfolio=charles-evans was awesome, he was so good and had a captivated audience every time he spoke. I cannot recommend them highly enough. He was looking at a long sentence had he been found guilty. His life with us would effectively have been over as we live with him and our 2 young children (who adore him). The lies were torn apart in Charles's defence of my partners father and he picked up on many aspects of the case we had not realised were significant on proving his innocence. I will forever be grateful for them both and cannot recommend them enough.

Highly recommend Hilary Doherty from ITN SOLICITORS, LONDON.
She did copious amounts of work for my son pre charge ( and was therefore not charged ) and was superb in all her dealings with him and with us, his family. Her charges were extremely reasonable for the amount of work she did for him. She travelled down to where we lived and spent hours on one visit alone at the Police Station and was meticulous in her dealings. The only extras we paid was her train fare. Always very empathic and yet professional and someone to trust.
Totally professional and correct in all her dealings and very human in her manner, and someone I trusted with my sons life and would have continued to do so had the need arisen. Quite a remarkable lady.
Does not do Legal Aid, but someone to discuss fees with for sure. Cannot recommend her highly enough,
