There is no differential between false allegations and real ones so I suppose they have all been lumped together but an interesting article nevertheless in that though the headline figures are for the local area, the national statistics are also quoted.

It must be remembered that these are cases which have resulted in a charge as opposed to having been taken to trial and so the proportion of allegations that result in an actual conviction will be considerably less than the percentages quoted.
