The CPS claim false rapes represents only 0.3 per cent of the 5,190 rape cases we prosecuted in 2016-17.

This complete rubbish as almost all martial rape allegations are false.

Used by evil women as the start of their divorce process, which represents about 40% of all rape allegations accounting for some 2000 cases last year.

Martial rape cases are not allowed to be reported in the press, but only when there is a successful conviction, which is very few.

However, the Police and CPS know most martial rape allegations are false, but will still charge the husband with rape to increase their poor crime detection figures.

As rape is the easiest crime to find a suspect as the victim usually knows the accused.

Agreed, I believe a 'positive' (to them!) spin has been put on this press release by the CPS.

issues connected to the disclosure of unused material were recorded as the primary reason for two per cent of the rape prosecutions that were subsequently not proceeded with after charge.


The implication is that there there could be (and are as we know from forum member's posts!) many more rape prosecutions not proceeded with for issues not connected to the disclosure of unused material i.e. discrediting of prosecution witnesses.

Please don't go down this road. While I agree that many probably are, given the requirement for DV to be cited in order to get legal aid, such a broad brush statement without facts to back it up is an insult to women who have survived abusive relationships, or indeed those who are still suffering. It's relatively recently that rape within marriage was a criminal offence and many women have suffered without recourse. False allegations are truly awful but so is living with an abusive man.
