  • Support Service in West Yorkshire

Just to make available the details of the support I've received after being raped, so that others can maybe use it! I'm from Leeds, where there is no rape crisis centre as such, but there is a project called STAR (Surviving Trauma After Rape) that serves the whole of West Yorkshire. They offer initial victim support, counselling, a tracking service if you report to the police, and they have been fantastically lovely people. They use plain stationary so they can write to you discretely, and can visit you at your home if that would be safest. I can't praise them enough, really. Also, even though they are in Wakefield, they make support available in your home town/city, you don;t have to go all the way there.

That's good to know. Can you tell us more about the tracking service they offer?
