I like this forum because people don't seem to be as angry as they are on many other forums. Unfortunately, it suffers from a low response rate.
There is no obvious section on the forum to talk about child abuse, but I think child abuse and rape are similar indications of the way in which the process of civilisation is, to some extent, an attempt to defeat the processes of nature.
It is not possible to defeat the processes of nature, but it is relatively easy to pervert them. Climate change is potentially as big a threat to the human condition as child abuse and rape.
The position of Lord Mayor of London is a fairly meaningless position which our civilised society has created in order to keep us all in our proper place, and senior members of society are no less likely to take part in sexually perverted activities than the rest of us. Any report which Fiona Woolf produces will do nothing to help the existing victims of child abuse, and any recommendations which she might make will be only be acted upon if her cronies are happy that it will not upset any of the apple-carts which guarantee their future comfort.
The enquiry should be conducted by people who are working at the margins of society, which is where the real problem exists.
