At the beginning of this yr my boyfriend was falsely accused of rape, our case is still ongoing and at present the end of this all seems very far away! We live in Northern Ireland and i know some of the laws and practices differ from those of mainland UK but i must say that i find the whole investigation process very frustrating and infuriating. The girl who started all this used to be a friend of mine and i now have to deal with the guilt that comes with knowing that someone you brought into peoples lives has been capable of effectively destroying those lives in question!! I am not sure that girls who make these false claims for whatever reasons realize what lasting damage they are doing to these innocent men. I have joined here in the hope that both my partner and i will be able to get in touch with people who have been through similar horrendous experiences and who will be able to hopefully offer advice and most of all hope that there is an end to all this.

it's worrying that you have used your real name as a username (or you appear to have done).

This is an open forum and it has been known for the police and SS to lurk around site such as this.

However, that aside, the laws in NI should be the same as they are here in England although some of their procedures may differ.

Obviously you can't go into too much detail here as I already said, you don't know who is reading these posts.

Something you need to do is work out what the motive is. Many people end up in prison after being harangued by Counsel for the Crown when the defendant cannot explain to the jury why this person would make up such horrendous lies about them. It also helps to find out whether the complainant has lied about such things before and how far did they get?

How do you know for sure that the alleged offence did not happen? If you know for sure then can you disprove her claims?
