Falsely accused

Hi my son was wrongly accused and bull barded into taking a plea bargain. This girl has accused 4 people that we know of and will do it again. She is only 13 yrs old. It hit the papers both down south and where we live now. He was said 2 have been between 13/14 yrs when this was supposed to have taken place. Can you please tell me is it legal for them to put his name in the paper? He was a juvenile but is now 22

I'm afraid so although this girl who falsely accused was a minor and also your son was a minor at the time of the alleged rape, if it had of been reported at the time your son was 14 then because he would have been a minor his name would have been protected. Due to the fact it wasn't reported till a later stage once you reach 18 + you are no longer classed as a juvenile.
How long did your son get for this? Are you appealing against conviction? My thoughts are with your son and family.

Yep I?m afraid once you are over 18 the media can do what they like, they can report your age, photo etc. The only time that this is not allowed is if the judge has ordered that you are to remain anonymous.
