Then your solicitor should obtain all statements that they have now. Surely they would have a victims statement, witness statements etc. What did the police say they were waiting for DNA, Scientific evidence? There still should be victim/witness statements ready for release. The statements are also crucial for your defence. Again I cant speak for the British system, but a Brief of Evidence in Australia has to be served well before trial. You really do need to get hold of any of the statements that can be released now and do this as soon as possible.
