  • Standard DBS Check?

Hi all, quick question if anyone on here has done this?
I was found not guilty of historical rape of a minor a few years back (around 2 years), my question is, ive been working for the same company for over 10 years, if I decided to go for other jobs, would these not guilty details show up?
I’m talking about sales jobs etc not working in schools etc

    Any advice please guys?
    Ta

They shouldn't be included in a standard DBS check, no.

Statistically, less than 1% of non conviction information is included on even enhanced DBS and these tend to be for work that involves being around children and vulnerable adults where issues of public protection are more relevant.

I do know however that DBS checks or delays in getting them have been a bugbear for some.

You have the right to challenge anything that might be included.

PAFAA's legal advisor used to advise people to join the DBS online update service which costs £13 which might give you early warning.

You can also probably make a subject access request ( SAR ) to the DBS to see what information they might disclose.

Another suggestion is to apply for some voluntary work that requires a DBS.

Thank you but I don't deserve it.

Thanks must go to the countless numbers before me that left something for others to pick up and use.

Expert advice is always the way to go if you can afford it.

Don't be fooled by anyone whose ego sees them pretending to be an expert ( I include myself here, just in case I get too big for my boots!)
