Whilst enduring one of my many hours of research on this subject I found this link which I find quite shocking, although from what I have read not actually surprising. I'm sure it won't fill any of us with confidence but it does let you know that even "joe public" feel the same way about the way the law works in our country.

The basic up shot is if you are going out for the night, take some paper with you and if you start getting intimate with someone, both sign it to say that you consent.

Unfortunately that idea is not foolproof. Once having got consent the "victim" will then say "I changed my mind".

I actually 'DO' now have consent forms in my bedroom bedside drawer at the insistence of some of my dear young gay friends who have seen me so abused by abysmal police handling of the false allegation made agaist me.

My friends call them my "F**k Forms",...and, errr, 'yes' I have had cause to use them!

However, It does sort of remove any romantic aspect and bring the whole thing down to almost a cold contract for sex.

Although so far it has caused laughter & amusement in the bedroom...in "I've never had to fill in one of these before", to which my reply has been "You've never slept with me before".....and where requested too, ...nobody has declined to fill one out!

It may not be foolproof, but having a piece of paper with "F**k Form" written across the top in inch high letters and a paragraph of consent written out in a persons hand writing I suggest would be pretty indicitive of having taken reasonable grounds to ensure consent was given.

Its also not to complementary about the police within the form, and that would make interesting reading out in court!

Out of curiosity, UT, do you have a form for each type of sexual act? There are, afterall, degrees of sexual activity. What if someone, for example, agrees to oral but not full sex?

Lamont:- It's a 'blanket' form (I think thats a pun) which just says , "Blah, Blah, ...I consent to sexual activity".

As RF said:- Not fool proof, but unless I have a commissioner of oaths present to draw up a specific contract... (this IS getting silly now, lol).

In truth, my 'FF' does (and has) brought up the issue of consent and has caused some humour in the process.

...besides how much room would I need for 'yes' to the wetsuit, 'no' to the 'fireman's helmet, and 'swinging from the chandiler' is... 'optional'?

Having had to deal with cases where the accuser has initially consented and admitted to consenting and then changed her mind right at the last minute, during the act itself - this is not really "getting silly" at all.

There was one such case in the papers quite recently as I recall.
