would cps find it strange or dismiss a case where the “girl” in question has asked her “rapist” to meet in a coffee shop?

The historical case (6years) has no evidence (only a friend of hers we believe) and a ton of texts where her and her bf try and blackmail my partner into a chat ....

I had a couple of 'silent' phone calls from my accuser and the OIC was very interested in these; if the person accused has been bailed one of the conditions is invariably no contact with the accuser.

I appreciate this doesn't apply in the case of your partner but I would still advise against the meeting. If you have something on record (i.e. texts) to confirm the contact I would contact his solicitor and perhaps get them to pass this on to the police.
