  • Not sure what's going on but it doesn't seem good

I received a letter asking me to call the police I thought it might be a scam at first but I googled the number and it checked out. The officer, who was lovely, but told me nothing said I am coming in to help, I am not in trouble and that it'll just be a quick chat.

However, it only takes 5 minutes online to find that a voluntary chat isn't really optional and they can freely lie about their intentions for bringing you in.

I really hate this idea that you shouldn't worry if you've nothing to hide. I am trying to go through every second of my life and work out what this could possibly be about or even think of any one person who'd make a false accusation like this, but there's just nobody.

Does anyone know what happens next after the interview?

Hi and welcome to the forum,

As you've posted on here I guess that the police officer who you spoke to has already indicated that the 'chat' will be in relation to an accusation of a sexual misdemeanor made against you? If so the following linked post may answer some of your questions:

It is probably advisable to ask a solicitor to accompany you to ensure that the 'chat' remains balanced, there will be two officers present who will be trying to get you to confess to whatever accusation has been made.

If you don't know any solicitors you may find someone local to where the interview will take place in this thread:
