TWO CHILD abuse detectives from Essex Police have been charged with destroying evidence, falsifying charging decisions and misleading senior officers.
DC Sharon Patterson and former DC Lee Pollard, both formerly attached to the North Child Abuse Investigation Team, face three charges each of misconduct in a public office.
The officers were notified yesterday that the Crown Prosecution Service has authorised charges against them.
They are due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Friday March 9
