How Corrupt is your police force?

I am A TAD angry with my local police force.

Webmoo has even been asked to remove my threads by 'sneaky' police.

These are some reasons & questions I cannot get answered by my local CORRUPT police force!

Questions to ask Police?

...because we have ...and gotten nowhere due to continuing homophobic attitude prevalent & protected within this police force, by the IPCC & the Police Authority.

1. Why was ONLY an 'OUT' gay person arrested from a group of people engaging equally in lawful activity. (This not the first time an OUT gay person has been targeted by police as sole ONLY person arrested when a group of persons equally involved in lawful activity)
2. Why did police attempt to take a statement from one witness over the phone?
When the witness declined (through distrust of honesty of police in gay cases) but witness offered to make statement in writing with an independent witness present ... police declined/refused!
3. Why did police decline to take witness statements from two other gay/bi
eyewitnesses?
(This COMMON police practise in this local police force to IGNORE defence witnesses, especially if gay/bi!)
4. Why did police ignore (poked at, but ignored) pertinent physical evidence when searching a falsely accused persons home?
5. Why did police ignore (admission and) withdrawal of a false allegation by an accuser within days/weeks of allegation being made...unless it was intentionally to further abuse and intimidate the gay victim falsely accused?
6. Why did police ignore information the accuser had admitted in text messages (held on record) that allegation was false?
7. Why did police ignore information there was an independent witness who received a phone call from the false accuser admitting it was a false
allegation?
8. Why did a local police diversity officer put out a false and misleading statement to national gay press that arrest of one of the primary local Gay PRIDE organisers would not effect the PRIDE event. The PRIDE gathering WAS at risk of cancellation. (How would this ARROGANT diversity officer know since he had had NO contact with the local PRIDE steering group!)

NB:- Prior to any arrest, group of twenty gay persons on a PRIDE steering group voted on THREE separate PRIOR occasions NOT to involve local police in the PRIDE day out of serious lgbt community concerns regarding homophobic attitudes and practises carried out by police.

9. Why did the police d-r-a-g out the case for over two months before finalising it?
10. Why did police STILL not return property seized from the gay persons
home almost a month after case finalised and NFA'd?
(some property is still missing 6 months later)
11. Why police not taken ANY steps to prosecute the person who made false allegation against the gay person arrested?
12. Why did/does Police Headquarters completely and utterly ignore emails sent to them on gay related issues ....this contrary to recommendations made by Independent Police Complaints Commission enquiries into this force in 2004 & 2006?
13. Why did police send round x2 police officers in unlogged visit to further threaten and intimidate falsely accused gay person and other members of his household AFTER case was finalised?

Multiple experiences and observations of treatment of gay/bi
persons.... is the most likely person to violate and abuse a gay person, disrupt negatively their life, cause financial & health distress and trauma through prejudicial attitudes and conduct...is UNQUESTIONABLY .... Police Officers.

...and MORE questions about my local police continuing corruption & homophobia within the local police force as EXPERIENCED by some gay persons.

1. What is happening regarding a DC police officer who (is alleged/accused) to committed perjury in a Civil Crown Court in Sept 2006 against a gay person. This has been reported to numerous police officers & IPCC (including the witness names) and NOTHING done about it?
2. What is being done about local police officer who told a gay victim of a
brutal serious violent assault, to quote :- ‘shut up, be quiet, you don’t want to say that’, when victim informed the police officer he thought it was homophobic assault. A breach of the ‘True vision’ policy on hate crime, just paid lip service by the local force police
(NOT investigated by IPCC)?
3. The same police officer threatened to charge with affray, a gay victim (hospitalised) after violent assault, if complaint of assault made by either two LGBT victims?
4. Why was a police Sergeant who obstructed information to a gay person
how to make a formal complaint against police never investigated properly?
5. Why another police Sergeant, now an Inspector, tried to obstruct
disclosure by a gay person of defence statements to police prosecution?
(NOT investigated by IPCC)
6. What has been done about another local police officer lie about a
signature in a pocket book to cover up police misconduct against a gay person?
(This Established by the IPCC 2006)
7. Yet another local police officer who lied and failed to deliver ALL
legally entitled court paperwork to a gay victim of police homophobia?
(This Established by the IPCC 2006)
8. Why is it acceptable that a police Inspector who stated in a letter
spreading rumours a gay person had HIV/AIDS (when they did not have HIV/AIDS, as proven by a letter from GU Clinic) was not harassment?
(This was Established but excused by the IPCC)
9. Why same Inspector stated in a letter that 'screaming of homophobic abuse in the streets 'was not harassment of a gay person.
(This was Established but excused by the IPCC)
10. Why a Detective Constable who participated in attempted blackmail of a homeless vagrant 15yr old gay youth living rough on the streets this was recorded on tape, has NEVER been investigated?
(NOT investigated, ignored by the IPCC)
11. Why two police officers who carried out a partial strip search on a gay youth in a public place and failed to follow home office guidelines .. on stop &
search”. The youth, witness in another case AGAINST police for misconduct. The same police rude to an elderly pensioner witness in defence of the gay youth. The youth’s complaints ignored by police of misconduct. The local gay PRIDE group later established who was responsible AND was prosecuted for the theft that the innocent gay youth was abused and bullied by police regarding.
(This abuse by police NOT investigated by the IPCC)
12. Why a Detective Constable who tried to mislead a court of law as to
ownership of a property and who acted upon entirely homophobic allegations
against a gay person has DESPITE it being reported to numerous police officers NEVER ivestigated?
(NOT investigated, but ignored by the IPCC)
13. A Detective Constable who threatened a seized computer (later
returned months later) would be wiped of information. The same police officer failed to return seized property to a gay person within an acceptable time line (This was Established by the IPCC)
(THIS resulting in total destruction of two gay owned businesses). Police later had to ADMIT in both an IPCC enquiry and in Civil Crown Court there were NO illegal images on the computer seized. The same police officer refused a gay person access to an LGBT diversity officer. Police HQ IGNORED ALL correspondence on this and other police homophobic conduct and practises?
14. What has happened about a Detective Constable who failed to finalise a case, leaving a gay victim of homophobic abuse on the police computer as a 'rape' suspect?
(This was Established by the IPCC)
15. Custody officers failed a gay person held in custody any food for in excess of 7 hours and tried to bully a gay person when their property went missing whilst detained by the police.
(Established, but ignored by the IPCC)
16. A police Inspector who lied about identity of two police officers who made un-logged visit to a gay person’s home.
(NOT investigated by IPCC)
17. On NUMEROUS occasions Police officers have refused to take witness
statements from gay persons regarding incidents locally. (This combination
of police abuses and violations subsequently drove a gay person to
attempt suicide).

Then there is the local police situation whereby:-

a). A gay 16yr old youth who sent porn to his (closet ) 17yr old boyfriend, police tried to prosecute the 17yr old youths gay employer who was innocent and had no knowledge or involvement.
b) Local police tried prosecuting for 'SEXUAL GROOMING' a gay employer who
allowed student employees to attend a GU Clinic in work time to get hepatitis
inoculations and professional sexual health information.
c.) Local police SERIOUSLY attempted prosecution on 'SEXUAL GROOMING' when a 16yr old gay youth choose a Xmas gift of Tesco novelty underpants and a small rubber willy novelty keyring for his (closet) bisexual boyfriend.
d) The same police officer SERIOUSLY suggested the film 'The Birdcage', Cert 15, starring Robin Williams... was a gay PORN film which could be used for "SEXUAL GROOMING"?

It is with GOOD reason the successful 2007 local LGBT Gay PRIDE group disbanded out of fear of further homophobic reprisal and vendetta from
Police officers!

NO HONESTY
NO INTEGRITY
NO IMPARTIALITY
NO TRANSPARENCY of Conduct

On 2005 the Government Home Office stated that Homophobia was ENDEMIC within the police.

The IPCC made twenty two recomendations of needed improvement in public service against my local police force as a result of my complaints...but the IPCC still managed to IGNORE and NOT investigate half the complaints and tried to treat them in isolation instead of part of a wider picture of how ALL these homophobic abusive practises by local police had an impact upon each other.

This is not about some third world developing country, but a British Police force!

Which is why I know NOT to believe ANYTHING a police officer tells you! They are in my experience the most dishonest, corrupt institutional organisation. Remeber the lies & deception used by police in the STOCKWELL shooting/execution?/murder?

So to wives, partners, boyfriends, girlfriends, friends, relatives, associates & others of those who state they are falsely accused:- Remeber, a person is innocent unless "Proven Guilty".

Give them your support

....and DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD the police tell you!

Being 'falsely accused' & worked over by corrupt (& homophobic) police force is every single bit as violating, intimidating, abusive, taumatic and devastating as any other form of abusive assault, more so as we the public niavely entrust & expect our police to conduct & act honestly

what a sorry tale. I know from experiencence never to trust the police, but to adopt the "no comment" line, and to pursue them to take statements which will be helpful to the defence.
Sadly, a friend of mine is the victim of a malicious allegation (non-sexual, but violent) made by his wife's ex-husband. the police have taken statements for the prosecution, but have been "unable" to collect other statements which would cast substantial doubt over the truth of the allegation! this has been going on for over a month now, and they have still been "unavailable" to collect these statements! the investigating officer is apparently on holiday for 3 weeks, and the officer allocated to deal with the case in his absence is also on holiday! ridiculous. They simply do not want to take the statements because they know that their case will be weakened.

The sad thing is that much police/CPS/crown court time would be saved if police actually did a full investigation rather than pursuing a case without trying to establish all the facts. little wonder that so many cases fail to secure a conviction at court if they are investigated so inadequately. This method of policing lets everybody down - not only the falsely accused, but also the genuine victims, and of course the taxpayer, who funds such amateur investigations.

this is a real slap in the face for those who still have faith in our justice system.

I think Saffron that in your friend's case the statements that they should be taking will be taken late into the "investigation" and then put into the unused bundle. Obviously his solicitor and barrister will be alive to how important that bundle is although I have one case (appeal ongoing) where the police put the helpful unused stuff in the unused bundle after trial. This forms part of his appeal and meanwhile he's been stuck in prison for around 3 years.

My solicitor asked me to get statements from witnesses myself...so I did

I simply asked witnesses to provide me a written account of what they had observed & been witness too, which they wrote themselves.

Forty-eight defence witness statements were eventually provided to me by over twenty-six witnesses...which the CORRUPT & homophobic police tried to block and exclude!

Don't wait for police to take defence statements & TWIST the facts in the way they write down a persons account.

Ask the defence witnesses to do it themselves in writing and send it directly to you (keep a copy) then provide them/it to your solicitor. Don't wait for a CORRUPT police officer to stitch you up...and in my experience they WILL try too!

Don't wait for other people...ACT, its your LIFE in the balance!

There is NO question or doubt in my mind AT ALL that a homophobic culture & practise THRIVES within my local police force!

UD - you really do need to stop this ranting about homophobic police! it is no good for your health and temper!!! We know that some officers are homophobic and by the same token some officers behave in exactly the same way they behaved to you, to straight people as well. I am dealing with several cases at once at any time and can see how the police often do use tactics to prevent evidence helpful to the defence case going to trial. Gay people don't have the monopoly of being falsely accused or being victimised by the police in this manner.

It is not just a problem for gays, it's a problem for many who are falsely accused of of sexual abuse.

Turn your anger into something positive to help ALL falsely accused people. I can tell you that from several years experience the vast majority of those falsely accused of abuse are straight. And convicted.

You've had a dreadful experience I know and I really feel for you. But it's the same for everyone in the same boat unfortunately, otherwise there wouldn't be so many people (straight and gay) sitting in a prison cell protesting their innocence.

I'm actually quite calm, I've been fighting homophobia, in particular police homophobia a very, very long time, long before I was ever falsely accused!

However, I feel it is imperative that strength of feeling is vented and that people ARE made aware that we DON'T have the honest British police force we the public are mislead to believe. (As if the STOCKWELL shooting/ execution? murder? did not teach us that!)

I'm probably one of the very few gay persons who posts here, please do not oppose me...unless I break site rules of course...then slap my wrist.

With the New Sexual Offences Act 2003 (effective 1st May 2004) we will, I feel sure see increasing numbers of men accused of the rape of men. I'm sure you will agree that it is intimidating enough for STR8 guys accused of rape, for many gay/bi men there will be additional stigma and trauma and prejudice within the judicial system towards their sexuality.

..because I believe that had I not fought to get the facts & the defence witness statements, nobody else would have done so for me.

I fought hammer, tooth, nail, & claw and quite rightly was NOT charged with any offence...if I had left it to the 'bent' local police force (a fact of my experience)...it may have been a very different story.

...and if there are coppers who don't like it...don't shoot the messenger, but weed out your corrupt police colleagues who have gained you this reputation...I can even provide a list of local police to me to start with!

I wasn't having a pop! I'm just concerned that you posting lots of anger especially about plod (no doubt a couple are lurking as "guests") will get the site owners into more trouble. You need to be very careful on an open forum and we can't have the forum owners in trouble with plod - I've known sites be closed down by plod due to that. My site at PAFAA was threatened by SS as we had a "name and shame" page on the site so we had to take it off otherwise they would have closed us down.

Message boards are a great way of letting off steam but repetitive rants at the police will end up being ignored. It's an interesting read the 1st time around! Don't forget that others who post in the falsely accused threads have probably had similar experiences - it's not just directed at gays.

I am sure you are absolutely correct that more false allegations will be made against gay guys but I doubt they will catch up with those against straight people - not that it's a competition of course! My caseload has only produced three gay cases (as I recall) but I cannot remember the number of straight guys I have tried to help - it's been that many.

I reckon you'd be a great campaigner though once the shock of what happened to you has dissipated. But we need campaigners for all victims of false allegations. I'm not fussy! I'll try to help anyone who is genuinely falsely accused, gay, straight or not sure. That's if I have the time!!!

Bedford police are USELESS!

This may be against the rules - Bedford police have rude and arrogant officers! - and I think they belittle the serious crime of rape,

Afterall I am a "dangerous criminal" - yet it took a week to arrest me!
They have FAILED to take drugs tests/teeth impants/talk to Social services about an obvious discpreancy,

They have had my PC/Phone a month and have so far made no progress in that matter - again if rape is such a serious crime - why has this not been done?

No wonder BEDS police are the worst in the country - all they do is arrest inocent ppl and cock that up when they do!

On a seperate matter - they FAILED to secure my bedroom so my money was stolen.

I received an emailed request from someone claiming to be a police officer, asking me to remove the posts. I refused, asking them to produce something more legally binding. I never heard from them again, but I did ask UD to be careful how he phrased things to avoid me getting into trouble!

But.... it has to be said there is not the slightest shadow of doubt in my mind whatsoever that I encountered dishonest, corrupt & homophobic police officers.

The IPCC enquiry was a sham, a farce...

A TINY Example:- Police siezed my computer, held it for months, later it was discovered by the IPCC that the forensics had returned the computer to local plod, but the local plod had not informed me, it was stashed in a plod lock up garage (or similar) for numerous weeks. Police refused me access on request to my business records. Now forensics had given the computer the all clear, that is to say the police ADMITTED in court their were NO ILLEGAL images on my computer.

It does not take a genius to work out that if police seize a computer and if it contains your business details and you run an internet business....it is a bit difficult to do so when the police take your computer for months.

Even a cretin could work out that would have an impact upon ones businesses and income.

....but NOT the IPCC...who said it had no effect. Derr!

However, I have been approached by the National Audit Office to give evidence to the Institue for Criminal Policy Research regarding my experience of the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

..and I will have NOTHING complementary to say in evidence about this Institutional whitewash organisation (The IPCC) which favours & is biased towards protecting the abuses of power, corruption, misconduct & criminality (I have personally encountered) carried out by police officers.

I say this in total calmness of being in the knowledge I speak the truth.

Thank you. Great to see you still here...in that you are a Fab voice of reason, along with RF advice, RFLH back up & Leeming firing from the hip!

I felt guilty having stepped away for a break, but I had too just to put some space between police misconduct events & the present!

I have been making a pest of myself on other websites (LOL), which resulted in HUNDREDS of messeges of support regarding police homophobia (even anon police officers coming forward to tell of problems in my local force).

The good news is our concerted efforts are driving changes locally to me on a variety of issues I campaign on, but it hasn't stopped the problem with the local police attitudes & practises. Thats going to be a far tougher nut to crack whilst there continues to be a willingness of senior rank officers to protect & cover up for officers who don't do their jobs properly.
