The summons is a piece of paper that tells you went to go to magistrates court I believe. Not as scary as it sounds. It's a piece of paper - that's all. You just attend where and when told to.

You will probably spend more time waiting around for the case to be kicked up to Crown court than you will in the courtroom. It's all of ten minutes in there.

Reading your story and trying to understand what you were saying, initially, I thought this was a resurrected NFA that was awaiting a decision.

I now understand that he has been charged. So obviously no NFA at this stage BUT still a possibility it could be dumped before the trial starts or during the course of the trial, depending on whether the barrister thinks that there has been some sort of "abuse of process".

We've had that happen a few times in this group and in PAFAA in the last couple of months.

I can only suggest you try not to let this consume your life and make time for yourselves, go out, enjoy the summer, cinema, meals, dancing. whatever.

There is much you can do to prepare a defence once you have the witness statements but this won't be until you have been to magistrates court

As long as you have a good legal team ready to act for you then you can do little more at the moment unless you can snoop on the accusers social media.

Worrying won't change things or stop it happening but I promise you can and will deal with everything and be a stronger person for it.

Hang in there, many have been where you are and all come out of the other side.
