Hi guys. So, it's nearly a week on from the NFA phone-call from the OIC. It's weird that it feels like such a long time ago. In the first few days, I thought 'ok I'll take a break from the forum' because I thought y'know, time for a break from thinking about the one topic that has been on my mind for 7 months! I do keep coming back and having a look and seeing how people are getting on, however. At the moment, though it's about piecing my life back together and there are some obstacles there to overcome and there is a lot of time I need to dedicate to that, but I will be back to write up my story (not that it's anything special - the most commonly experienced things I think) after my struggles are over. I hope everyone is keeping their chin up - there is an end to all this, but it is so difficult to see and seems so distant sometimes. And there was me thinking it would be cleared up in 2 weeks! Ha! No chance!

Look after yourself Squonk.
You've been through a traumatic time and it will take time to recover.
The length of time investigations take make it feel like you have been victimised by the law, having an accusation hanging over you for so long is a punishment in itself. We all expect the police to see the truth when we know we are innocent and can't believe it takes them so long. It's just the way it is. Genuine victims of assaults have to wait a long time for justice too.
What you are really a victim of is someone that is wicked enough to lie about something so awful. The horror and revulsion that anyone could stoop so low is not something we could ever imagine happening, especially to ourselves. Joining one or more of the groups makes you realise it happens far too often and can make you feel like it's no longer a beautiful world and that no one can ever be trusted.
How you get over that is down to you but you can fill your life with good people and good times and the memories of your experience will fade as you create happier ones. For reliable legal aided advice in the London or home counties area, contact Harvey Fox of Freemans Solicitors, London.
