Hi everyone,

A week ago today, i had my police interview, this was a voluntary interview, i wasn't arrested or anything and decided to go to the police station with a solicitor.

Basically long story short, met this girl online, we started dating, she had a bad mental history so i was very wary of doing anything with her, eventually decided to, only did things twice, she then decided that she wasn't ready, we had an argument, split up and haven't spoke since the end of September.

Last Thursday received a visit at my home address while i was at work, two officers, wanting to speak with me, i called the officers back on the details left and found out about the accusation, went in the day afterwards (A week ago today) and had my interview.

I had evidence of the last conversation we ever had where she said that i had done nothing wrong, and that i had been nothing but nice to her. Which i presented to my solicitor at the time, he then presented these to the two officers in charge and the officers have taken a full copy of these messages.

My question is, What happens now, how long will it take before i hear anything, this is completely ruining my life, i have not yet told my parents as this would cause me so much trouble, my new partner is fully aware of these accusations and has been so supportive its unreal and i have told a very trusted friend, but i cant even look at myself anymore the same, i just feel so disgusting, i feel worthless and i feel like i shouldnt be around anymore, just the accusation alone makes me feel like this, if it went much further, i dont think i would be able to cope with it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a familiar tale around here unfortunately.
I wish we could tell you what will happen next but each case is very different and there's just no knowing.

Other than that, it's a case of hanging on until you hear more.

Same thing happened to me.briefly i met a girl on badoo , later i found out she was homeless -she used me for a place to sleep at the hotel.no sex no anything and the next day i got arrested by police on suspicion of rape and beat...i.ve been interviewed - no solicitor as i knew i havent done anything held in a cell for 6 hours and released on bail.
Now i have to wait.still 1 month and no answer no letter

sorry to hear that,

it is just so easy for people to make false allegations. once proved they lying, they should get big sentence and create an example of them.

I hope those officers and CPS believe you. police has to investigate and it might take some time roughly 6months, I hope it will be NFA.

just be very careful next time.

Try to get on with your life, i know it will be hard but atlest you got support from your partner.

A lot of girls do it for money (compensation).
next time if you to police station, take a solicitor with you, if you ever get called because police can twist your words but if solicitor there, he/she might stop them asking suspicious questions.

I met his guy in prison, he was married and his wife accused him of rape. he wanted to divorce her and he applied for the custody of his daughter. his wife had a criminal record as in fraud etc so he was going to get his daughter's custody BUT his wife accused him of rape. she said, he raped her twice in XXXX year but after that, they were having normal intercourse. jury still find him guilty. he got 7 years sentence.

he appealed and went to court of appeal, the truth comes out that, his wife infact accused her first husband but withdrew the allegation. police never disclose this information in trail. they produced it once he got found guilty. court of appeal said, why would she ruin her second marrige? so they refused and he have to 3 and half years in prison. where is the justice?

As others have said your situation is all to common. However from the information you have provided I wouldn't be too worries.

If you:

a. Had a lawyer present
b. Answered all questions honestly and openly no matter how graphic
c. Have multiple messages confirming consent before and after the act

and...

d. She has proven mental issues

Then I would be very confident you will receive the right outcome.

Your situation is VERY similar to mine. I had all of the above, I wasn't arrested, just asked to come in for an interview. They took photographs of our message history from my phone and I was given NFA 10 days after the initial interview. She is now being investigated for wasting police time.
