To answer your questions so far as I am able - so far as I'm aware from reading on here, this may or may not be on your son's DBS check. He can apply for a copy to find out for himself. If it's there, he can ask the Chief Constable to remove it but that may or may not make a difference. Whether or not it makes a difference to an employer, given that it's there and stays there, depends on the job he wants to do and if/how he explains the situation himself.

If the Chief Constabke refuses to help, the involvement of one's MP has been known to bring about a change of mind, I believe.

This is how I understand things from reading here, but others may have more direct experience and know different.

Best wishes for the future. It's not done yet and it will have changed you as a family forever, but the future certainly looks brighter than it was. It does make one wonder if the CPS just forge ahead with prosecuting counsel only looking at the file as late in the proceedings as possible.

                  Barrister check

Hello all - while our 'waking nightmare' is over after the CPS decided not to progress the case three weeks ahead of trial, it continues for a friend of mine whose son was also falsely accused. He is due at Exeter Crown Court in a month or so. His barrister is Richard Crabb - has anyone got any experience of him, is he known for his success with this type of case?

The family is in pieces and seeking some reassurance. Any insight would be appreciated.

                  Thanks all.
