  • Why oh why ??

    Hi
A few years ago my other half was accused of CSE, he was amongst 40 -50 other men. He was nfa'd when he could prove he wasn't at the suspected days and times. Our solicitor thinks the police arrested everyone who the accuser came into contact with. As my OH wasn't living at home because we separated and he was renting a room situated on top of a takeaway. All the men lIving there were arrested.
Anyway my daughter who is 15 was followed by 2 men who were saying crude sexual things to her, obviouslying she was very upset and so we ran the police and they took a statement. Today the same officer rang up to ask for my daughters doctors and how many people live in the house. Why would she need this ? Is there a possibility that the accusation against my husband will be brought up and the social workers will again make my life a misery ?
I can't put her through that again please help !!!

I can't see how this would relate to the previous allegations as it is your daughter's medical records they have requested not your OH's.

thanks for replying RF, i thought that at first but i'm concerned that the social workers would get involved because her father was accused. what im trying to say is would they come back and question her about her dealings with the social workers before ?
The SW haven't spoken to us for a few years now, but haven't confirmed they would close her case.

Who knows what they might do or say. I can't see how they could link this new case with the one against your OH though.

It's probably a standard form they fill in when there's an allegation of sexual "misconduct" made.
Your daughter has made what amounts to an "allegation" as far as they're concerned, so they are supposed to investigate.
The paperwork is probably poorly worded and this is just a box to tick.
Try not to worry, as RF says, I don't see how they can link the two cases.
I completely understand your worry but it's unlikely they will connect them.
          Big hugs

            Thanks YoH
I've now seen the other side to how police behave when someone makes a complaint of a sexual nature. My daughter wasn't touched in any way, she just felt scared of them following her and wanted to report them. But the police were determined that she gave a statement and encouraged her to say and feel things to make her statement stronger- this is obviously very wrong and I told the police officer to stick to what my daughter wants to say and not make it up. The police officer was trying get to be her best friend yet on the flip side police officers think all accused are guilty.
I'm now in 2 minds as to whether we should carry on or just leave it, like I said my daughter just wanted to speak to someone
            What to do ????

You have done the right thing in reporting it.
If there are others who have also been victims of these men then the police will have it on record.
This is not acceptable behaviour towards anyone, let alone a 15 year old girl!
They need to at least be spoken to by police.
It could lead to other things rather than just words next time.
I know how you feel about it though.
It's hard to trust the police when you've been stung so badly.
What are they expecting from you now?
              Have they identified the men?

At the moment they only have my daughters statement, no cctv footage in train (can you believe that not all trains have cctv cameras ) !!! Now they're waiting for cctv from the platform, this will take another 5 days. My concern was the form they had to fill in to let social services know, I can't deal with them being here again - I just can't and that's what makes me want to stop the whole thing.
