Woke up hungover around 4pm on Saturday just gone. Heard loud knocking on my door 3 big cops were there, asked me my name and if I lived here, after I said yes they slapped the cuffs on and said something about rape.

been in shock ever since, this girl I met the night before was kissing me all night in the bar, she wanted to come back with me, she got in my bed but I couldn't get it up cause I was so drunk at this point. I went back to drinking, smoked some weed, crashed out and when I woke up she was gone.

I am now terrified of girls/women, of being in public and can't sleep in the dark.

my brain has kind of shutdown and I need it to be on the best form of its life right now cause I'm not handling this very well.

Did you take up the offer of a duty solicitor and are you currently bailed pending further enquiries?

If the bar has CCTV it would be helpful to contact them and ask them to retain the footage for the two nights in question in case this is needed (they are unlikely to give it to you but at least it won't get overwritten)

Some duty solicitors are specialists in sexual offence cases. It really depends on who is on call at the time.

Haven't been charged, only an accusation has been made.

Yes, there was cctv in the bar and I know the police have it which I'm happy about, will show us kissing and dancing about in the bar, will also show us leaving hand in hand back to my flat.

The duty solicitor was just a robot who wouldn't tell me anything.

Be kind to yourself. No-one would handle this well; and by that I mean it throws everyone for a loop one way or another.mIt's a horrible shocking thing to happen. However, rest assured that the worst that can happen for the moment is over. You've been accused of something dreadful that you haven't done and you are in shock about it all. Let your mind recover. For a while at least it's a waiting game and things will get to feel calmer over the next few days.

You know you've done nothing wrong. Just hang on to that for the time being. Like I said, things will feel less panicked in a few days and you will be able to think better. Let that come in its own time.

if you have a close friend you can confide in, or work to go to or a hobby/the gym you can do, it will help, and you will find lots of support here too.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, but it does get easier to deal with, even though it isn't a bad dream you can wake up from.

That would be helpful if she claimed in her interview that you dragged her out kicking and screaming, so to speak. However, if she said she left with you happily "not knowing what was going to happen" than that CCTV doesn't really help. Does the CCTV actually cover you going all the way back to your flat, or is that out of screenshot?

Get in touch with someone who you have more faith in. Go through the recommended Solicitors in this forum, or if you're in London/Essex get in touch with Riz at the firm in my signature.

This girl is saying she went to my bed by herself, (which is a lie, we went together) and when she woke up, I was ****ing her another lie cause I was too drunk and stoned to get it up.

I know cctv is ultimately irrelevant but at least it won't show me for the rapist animal she is trying to portray me as.
