false allegations of child abuse

hi there, my brother who is 36yrs married with 2 children has had allegatins made against him of abusing our 2 neices, these are completly untrue, the allegations were made 5 weeks ago to the police, they have have not yet contacted my brother, he is at his wits end, he has been to a solicitor but until the police contact him there is not much we can do, has anybody any advice as to what he should be doing in the mean time
