  • Refused Charge,bail cancelled

After a year and 2 months on bail I got a letter from the police saying Refused Charge and another saying bail cancelled
This is obviously great news but im still not clear on the difference between this and an NFA does anyone know?

I was a witness to an "incident" where a man was arrested on suspicion of assault.
He never even touched the alleged "victim" and after speaking to all the people present, he was "refused charge".
When I asked what that meant the OIC told me that the evidence was shown to the sergeant and the sergeant said that it didn't meet the criteria to go further (ie CPS)
      The sergeant then "refused charge"
It does seem that on a sexual allegation the case practically always goes to CPS on an allegation alone, this must've been an extremely weak case!!
      Anyway, it's good news!!
Solicitor will probably give a much clearer definition than I can!!

I will try but thesolicitor was a useless duty one and has never called me back each time I've reached out all they have done is send me a later each time that bail was extended
Have you ever heard of a charge refusal before?

Oh yeah it was a ridiculous case it would have been hard for them to build a decent case but I still can't see anything online defining what a charge refusal is the DBS said they would remove the arrest record for the next DBS i apply for if I fill out a form they said they are sending out as my current one shows my arrest
