A solicitor firm that specialises in property is not the same as one experienced in defending false allegations. It's a completely different subject altogether.

Do they have a criminal defence department?

As I am here typing this, my positive thoughts go out to you, as you will very nearly be in your "meeting".

I sincerely hope your solicitor has a working knowledge of your circumstances, as RF stated, there are so many different solicitors.

Fingers crossed it has all gone ok. try and stay calm, and positive.

Yes, the lady indeed specialises in serious cases, like murder and rape. The firm have a good spectrum of good solicitors, I've always used them, and they are now going on the recommended solicitors list because..........INSTANT NFA!

Thanks to everyone for positive support, I can honestly say that today I didn't feel alone because of this forum and the incredibly strong people here!

I'm staying around to provide whatever support I can. This is the second time I've been through this hell, and although this time was brief, it was indeed hell.
The OIC showed great respect and saw common sense prevail from the off, so a rare "hats off" to the police.

Just shows that they're not all out to get us, as it seems quite often I'm sure. Here's hoping everyone who is falsely accused has a common sense loving OIC!!!

                Big Well Done

The waiting part is so very hard, and for some its a long time, and others its much shorter.

                Great news to hear

Would sound nuts to anyone who hasn't been through this, but those bananas are everything I wanted. Thank you!!

RF, keep doing what you're doing, believe me when I say it makes a difference.

Interesting about the home chat/interview; I've never heard of this before, and of course it would not have been possible to tape it, so I wonder if it was always intended to be an informal way of telling you that the case wasn't going to be proceeded with.

Yeah I know. I've never come across this or heard of this before!

I now feel the same way, that it was the OIC's way of saying 'relax, nothing to worry about'

I totally understand that the police have to do everything to satisfy:

                        a)public interest
b)the alleged victim and their network

When I heard that he was visiting my home, I automatically assumed that it was a tactic to put me at ease. However, I've had many years contact with my solicitor over property, business, a GBH and a robbery (I'm no saint, but I'm not a rapist).
I concluded, after a legal chat, that this is a tactic the police CAN use, since 2006 apparently. So be warned. Home, office, police station.......an interview IS an interview, just right now if it's away from the station, you're looking good.
