Ok so just had a text from my mum, she said the police want to speak to her (according to my sister)...
Not sure why they have to speak to my mum?
So looking highly likely that at some point they will want to speak to me!!
Will update as and when i hear anything!

Yes on the 5th october FA saw him at his old job and contacted the police about an alleged incident (lie) 11 years previous. He then was promoted and his job moved locations and an officer showed up at work and invited him to informal interview. If hed been promoted a month or so earlier wed have escaped tjis hell.

Hi Aidy : just read your thread tonight & wanted to add my thoughts and best wishes for good luck & hopefully a definite NFA ....

All the dreadful experiences being related in this forum have similar strands and so, as you have found, there is lots of good advice and guidance from the group.

I've drawn comfort from the support I see being shared in your thread, as well as the advice on herbal antidepressant , mindfulness, church etc :-). I shall be trying them all ! (Possibly in addition to falling down fire water of course) But just wanted, as a mum with a son, also falsely accused ... Please DONT let suicidal thought into your mind.... You will survive this and you have everything to live for - lovely wife and child Focus on them and picture your happy family in your mind, whilst you get through this.

        Goodnight & God bless !

Just a quick update as of today..
Spoke to my mum earlier, and she informed me that my accuser has been videoed at the police station!
It appears she is drinking heavily and coming out with all sorts of stuff including stuff about her own mother!!!!
She also said the police want to speak to her, my dad and basically my brothers and sisters!!

Might sound like a daft question, but can they do this??

Obviously this has made me even more anxious now!

Not sure how your Mum would know something like this, and if it was actually true.

You can hope that she has been there perhaps a bit worse for wear, but it might not help your case.

Stay strong, stay focused, and try not to think of the dreaded S word, OR try and work out what might or might not happen

Until the Police have decided, all the supposition in the world will be no good.

Just make sure that the police do not try to turn them into prosecution witnesses and then lie, saying they cannot speak with you. It's a trick they sometimes employ once the person has been charged.

Something similar happened to Redscouse and his brother thought he could not give material evidence due to the lies by the police. He will give evidence at the retrial.

Defence CAN speak with prosecution witnesses, via the solicitor. They don't have to talk to you about the case but they can speak freely with your solicitor. Usually prosecution will drop such "prosecution witnesses" just before or during the trial so too late for defence to use them.

It's referred to as "tactics". I call them "dirty tricks".

if your potential defence witnesses are interviewed, they should answer ONLY the questions asked and not waffle, as the officers may well then twist what is said to their own ends.

Such a shame advice like this has to be given. Such a shame we can no longer trust the police and CPS to do the right thing and investigate properly, rather than gather evidence that will support a conviction and remove support from the defence.

Great stuff. I think when they are pupil barristers they have to learn all areas of the law so hopefully he can help. If not, he will know somebody who can.

Yeah I know what you're saying about Anti-Ds,
                          Anti-Depressants - Trazadone - My experience

I have trouble sleeping and my doctor referred me to a sleep therapist who diagnosed depression which he said was invoking the insomnia.
He prescribed the anti-depressant Trazadone which he said would help with both problems. I had been taking them for about a week when
I got the following odd and creepy experience.

One night I went to bed and as I was laying down I noticed out of the corner of my eye that the TV on the wall was on and was showing
a 1950s/1960s type Western in Technicolour. The sound was turned right down as there were others in the house asleep and it was late.

Turning to look at the set I noticed that it was pretty much a standard type of Western with covered wagons slowly moving along a sunlit
plain with ridges and hills in the background. One wagon was large and in the foreground and there were other wagons appearing smaller as
they went further into the background. All perfectly normal.

I went to the bathroom to clean my teeth and returned to my bedroom. I noted that the film seemed pretty boring and hadn't moved on
much since I had been to the bathroom.

I turned over away from the TV and lay down.

Next thing I knew it was morning and the sunlight was peeping in my window. I immediately realised that I had forgotten to turn the TV off
before I went to sleep and turned over in my bed to confirm that but ...

Not only was the TV not turned on BUT there was no TV on the wall and I then realised that there never has been!

Yes, The complainant was boasting to me about how strong the anti-depressant pills are that the doctor gives her too, 'double strength' she said.
