reply to public shaming
I am acquainted with the legal firm who pursued damages on behalf of the claimant.
I will clarify with them next week, but al social network sites have a duty of care under a whole range of legislation.
Most of it under the Public Oder Act.
Should any third party post offensive material, "likely to cause harm" there is a breach for which the originator of the content may liable to a criminal prosecution and the platform which hosts such content is vicariously liable.
If the content identifies your location (as was in this case).....or leads to your identification of you, there could well be an offence and a tort.
