My partners bail was extened a week before he was supposed to be at the police station then a few weeks after they brought it forward via a letter from his old solicitor saying he'd been charged (which I thought was very unprofessional of the solictor) but not sure if this is the norm?

Not sure what you mean by
My partners bail was extened a week before he was supposed to be at the police station then a few weeks after they brought it forward via a letter from his old solicitor saying he'd been charged (which I thought was very unprofessional of the solictor) but not sure if this is the norm?
Also
That a few weeks after that, the solicitor received a letter from the police, saying that your partner had been charged?
If so, I can't see how the solicitor can be blamed/suggested he was unprofessional for receiving a letter from the police. Maybe I've missed something.People Appealing Convictions of Sexual Offences ~http://www.pacso.co.uk

Hi RF,
No a week before my partner was supposed to attend bail he was then told his bail had been extended for an extra 3 months but a few weeks after he was told this my partner receives a letter from his old solicitor ( not Gerry) that he had been charged. I just thought they could have called him and told him on the phone as its hard anough as it is to deal with all this with out opening a letter up and reading it.
Sorry for the misunderstanding

Oh ok.
Some people complain if they do not get the decision in writing, rather than a receiving a phone call, so maybe he thought sending a letter was the best option.
Plus of course maybe he was just exceptionally busy and dictated the letter to be typed up and sent, rather than ring and then potentially be faced with a barrage of questions, keeping him on the phone longer than he had time for on that particular day.
It's certainly not unprofessional as it is often the way it is done. You have a fab sol in Gerry so move on from this and concentrate on the defence casePeople Appealing Convictions of Sexual Offences ~http://www.pacso.co.uk
