False abuse claim

Hi, I'm new to this site and don't even know if I'm in the right place so I'm hoping some guidance is coming my way from you all out there. I have been accused of sexually assaulting a child when I was 14. I turn 40 this year so as you can see its a historical claim. As yet I haven't been charged. I don't really know what I can say on here about the alleged incident. All I know is I DIDNT do what he is claiming. The whole situation is petrifying and it's tearing me apart. I am lucky I have great support in my family and close friends and my husband, but it's not quite the same as talking to someone in the same boat. Thank you

Hi, yes we have been in contact in the other forum. I stand by the fact that I was 14. Times of the alleged incident are a bit vague, but I worked it out from school holiday summer jobs. Ok a brief overview of the incident is, yes I babysat for the child along with his brother and two cousins during the summer holidays whilst both sets of parents worked. The job finished suddenly and I never knew why. We all lived in a small town where everyone knows everyone. I left school and went to become a qualified nursery nurse and was working full time in childcare. There has never been one child that has accused me of anything sinister until now.

I'm not so sure about the "Doli Imcapax". I have had a quick look and it seems that if I went down that route, I'm saying I did it, when I know I didn't do it. Also, even at the age of 14 I knew you shouldnt hurt children. Sorry if I'm wittering on here.

The Doli Incapax works for those denying the allegations too. Hopefully Soulbug will arrive to help you with that one.

I know that you are not in the UK so at the moment it's pointless suggesting specialist solicitors. The one that dealt with Soulbug's case as I recall was www.chrissaltrese.co.uk although I might be wrong there.

Hi I did look at the website last night, unfortunately i will be on the legal aid system. I'm self employed and my wage supports me and my husband. Thanks for all your support and advice. I really do appreciate it

If God forbid there is a charge, roughly where would any trial take place? Usually close to where the complainant lives and/or where the alleged offences took place.

God forbid indeed!!!!! The alleged incident happened in a small town in Wales. The closest crown court would be Swansea. The child has also accused me of slapping him across the face and showering him with fairy liquid!!!! But the police are just investigating the sexual assault so my piece of paper from them says.

Except he's not a child now making these claims up. Annoys me when I read Judges Summings Up where the judge refers to the "little girl" who is actually a grown woman who is now alleging stuff

What I can't get my head around is why me and why now? Ok I haven't seen this man in years and didn't even know who he was the night he physically assaulted me. So his get out of jail card was to make these accusations up. He has previous records of assault so it's like I was his latest victim

Hi, I thought I explained in the other forum? On the 23rd December he physically assaulted me. He told the police that he assaulted me because I assaulted him when I was looking after him. Hence the start of this living nightmare

We used Dan Griffiths solicitor of Devonald, Wilson, Griffiths, John solicitors 01792 484566. He was very helpful and has an excellent reputation. He suggested a choice of 2 barristers whom he thought would be suitable to defend my son. The one my son chose did an excellent job.
