  • Is anyone able to offer guidance/advice? :(

    Good Afternoon,

    I have read several posts on here over the last couple of days and it seems as if a lot of people are or have previously dealt with this and was looking for some guidance/advice on the process.

    Someone has made an rape allegation against my partner, claiming that he raped her twice 6 years ago and at this time she was underage and then they entered into a consensual sexual relationship. My partner has been questioned by the police and has now been bailed until March, I don't believe for one minute that he is even capable of doing this to someone and it is not the allegation that it effecting me its the worry of the outcome, how can they make a decision with no evidence to support either side

    My partner and the claimant were in contact towards the end of last year (nothing of this subject was mentioned in there chit chat) and i was approached by her family member who advised me they were talking etc. and nothing has been said to me about the alleged rape either. I understand from people that know her that she does like to cause trouble and make sure that people feel intimidated but this is just taken things a step to far (assume she didn't like the response she got from me and the fact that we didn't split up due to them talking). I have a screenshot of one message from her having a joke with him (which isn't a lot) but it shows that she even entertained a conversation with him.

    He has told me that at no time have they been in a relationship, nor have they had intercourse but they have kissed once and that she has caused trouble in the past with him and ex partners. A couple of people have also advised me she has accused someone else of the same issue a couple of years ago but this case was thrown out of court (not sure why or the full in's and out's).

    I don't know if it is just me but i cant get my head around the following;
    • Why would you engage in general chit chat with someone who has allegedly raped you?
    • Why you would only report this six years later, i understand that true victims do leave this some time and live with it but why after they have spoken etc.
    • How peoples lives can be completely and utterly destroyed by an allegation before it is even proven - the justice system is so corrupt in my opinion!

    I emphasize fully with those who have been in this situation and i can only imagine that it is devastating but how someone can make something like this up is just taking the p**s out of those who have had to suffer with this.

    I am going to contact FASO this evening for a chat but i would like to hear other peoples experience's who have been in this situation, i am just finding it so hard to deal with and i know that i should put it to the back of my head but unfortunately that is much easier said than done i feel so lost

    Thank you in advance for anyone who does take the time to read and reply my essay

    Was this in typing chat or verbal only? If typed then that could be helpful.

    Which area of the UK are you in?

      It was typed but we no longer have the chat history, the police have his phone now so should hopefully be able to retrieve them?

      I am in South East England.

            Hopefully it's one that is experienced in such matters. A solicitor who did a good job in a burglary case or drink driving just will not do.......

              Understood, Rightsfighter. I have faith in the Solicitor who has previously acted on my partners behalf and have questioned them on this type of case and there dealings of it. If you dont mind though, i will take down the recommendation from you?
