  • online rape allegation

I had sexual relationship with my daughter' s friend on 2 separate occasions. My husband found out and have worked through it, however my daughter has disowned me and her friend because she confronted him 5 months later he has accused me of raping him!! Another 4 months down the line and several of my daughter's friends deleted him from their friends list resulting in him posting on facebook and Twitter that he was raped by me he has posted this to all my daughter's friends! My husband is understandably furious and wants to go to the police, I wAnt to take legal advice first I would appreciate any advice!!

How old is he? Just bear in mind the age of consent.

Either way I wouldn't go and report my self to the police. Perhaps make notes of times and dates to police.

He is naming me on facebook and Twitter saying I'm a rapist. I have my own business and this going around could finish me!!! It was fully consensual and his main gripe is his friends front want anything to do with him because they no it's false

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Firstly I must emphasize that, as far as I know, none of the active members of this forum have any formal legal training (though if Rights Fighter sees your post and responds, her advice will be correct) so please also seek advice from a specialist solicitor before initiating any action.

Having said this the consensus of opinion on here will agree with Edinashed; any approach to the police will result in a full investigation being launched based on the premise that the 'victims' allegation is correct. He will be interviewed and if he persists in the allegation (and of course at this point he may well withdraw it!) then undoubtedly you will also be interviewed.

It is your call whether you consider that this procedure will cause more personal upset and reputation damage than the present scenario of the social media onslaught (but do read some of the other forum members accounts of their experiences!)

Hi el2 and welcome to the forum.

I've read your post a few times, just to make sure that I'm understanding that a man is accusing a woman of rape?
As I understand it a woman cannot rape a man because of the how the offence is defined in law. Rape, in English law, requires a penis to be inserted into a woman’s vagina, anus or mouth without her consent.

Very attention seeking to be posting accusations on social media and I can understand your distress.
I would be taking screenshots of what he's posting on social media and I would be taking legal advice on what the best course of action would be.
