Would members here be prepared to help research the trauma people experience as a result of a false allegation?
I am a doctor - and formerly a subject of a false accusation of rape. I've spent most of my career working with medical research, and would like to produce some evidence about this under-studied area. I suspect that many of us have ended up with anxiety and depression through the dreadful processes brought about by our accusers. I was shocked to see that there was no specialist advice available to help people cope, other than this excellent forum, and was also wondering if there would be an appetite to provide a more personal, 1:1 support?
I would initially like to have a general word with people or their family members, who have been through the whole process of accusation, arrest, investigation, and whatever falls out of it. The technical term is a semi-structured interview - out of which I might be able to come back with a more focused research study to be applied to a wider range of members.
