Hi I was wondering can the police keep hold of my son's computer and phone when there is nothing on there to defend this girl, yet may have messages etc from her that could defend him? Can they do this? And what about CCTV from area, could they be the only ones that can use all this to try and defend her, or just take these items just to stop my son using them to help him?

I have just been following my friend's sons rape trial and thought the same thing. The defence team will get to see all this as well and he will get it all back after the trial from what I have seen.
In my friend's sons case the jury saw through her lies and he was found not guilty. The phone that the police siezed was found to contain very useful information used in the defence case.
He now has his phone back.
