Hi ten_pence, welcome to forum and sorry you had to find us like this but you will get great help and support here. If you havent already got legal representation I would advise getting some, I am no expert by far but, I think you will just have to answer any question they ask you truthfully. In my case I was offered the chance to tell my side of events firstly which I told them every single detail I could, then they broke it down and asked question about what I had said along side others.
I am not sure about not being arressted, maybe someone better experienced will answer that.
I make excusses that this will be a roller coaster for you, but be true to yourself and keep hold..... its not easy

As Evian said, answer all questions truthfully but do contact a lawyer beforehand to decide whether any "extras" should be revealed or not. My hubby did so - also a different country involved - and upon the sol's advice, he presented certain information (copies of various statements made by others etc) to help prove his innocence.
Likewise he has not been arrested and we are now awaiting the CPS decision as to be charged, NC or NFA.
It's hell to be in this situation and as others have experienced their ups and downs and many of my own rantings, I personally feel it does become somewhat easier to cope. That doesn't mean you'll ever understand what's going on or why, for that. Just make sure you have everything you need to take with you, gather as much evidence as possible and keep a copy of said evidence in a very safe place away from your own home!
Take care!

I'd also say don't tell them anything other than the truthful answer to a question but don't elaborate. They won't use anything to help prove your innocence. If there is any contradiction between what you say and what FA has alleged, they will take your statement back to her and she will change her story to fit which she is allowed to do.
A member on here was accused of rape between 7 and 7:30 pm because the FA "remembered hearing the music to Emmerdale." When the member told plod he had a caste iron alibi for that time, they told the FA and she said, "Oh no.....I was wrong - it was the 10 o'clock news I heard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (Not a lot of difference between Emmerdale and the news..........................) Plod accepted her change of story and questioned the member again.............
Take advice from your sol - you must have one with you - someone who is a criminal defence sol - he/she may advise a no comment response or to answer questions..... Hold back on anything which is not an answer to what they ask.....

Spot on advice from sparks and myhome which the OP should heed.
We cannot answer here what you should answer, only your solicitor should do that. Do NOTHING without one present, even if it appears to be off the record."Be sure your sin will find you out"

Reiterate that advice.
The more information that you give to the Police the more they have to use against you.
It could be that your standing in the dock and the prosecutor asks you a silly question that you answer only for them to say "But in the Police interview you said 'x' whereas now you are saying 'y', which is the truth?"
You're then left stammering in the dock and unnecessarily looking guilty......
Post up your county and someone will recommend a solicitor for you that you can take with you to the interview. Take every single step of the process deadly serious, your freedom and character/reputation are on the line here.Wow... A signature option!

Hi ten_pence
have a look at this sticky and see if there is one there - if not post your question as a new thread naming your county and someone may be able to recommend one to try and also those to avoid. There are some specialist sols who work nationally...
