Please forgive this intrusion to the forum but I am seeking help.
I am an aspiring playwright and have an idea for an issue based play. The issue I would like to highlight is that of being falsely accused of rape.
It is for this reason that I am making contact and am asking if anyone would be prepared to talk to me about their experiences.
Any discussions will be treated in strict confidence, and can be anonymous, via email, over the phone or in person if so desired.

The members here are rightfully wary of speaking to anyone about their experiences as they cannot be sure to what use their information will be put.

However if you are simply seeking a plot for a play you are perfectly at liberty to read through the threads as some members have described their experiences quite fully.

Thank you. I can certainly understand any reluctance in speaking to an outsider.

I will read through the threads. If I am honest, I have already read through a few, not all. But they did inspire me to try to make contact. I do have a plot idea - the bare bones at least - but i can only take that so far. From past experience in gathering research, after talking to people, the plot sometimes changes dramatically through what has come to light.

My request to talk was to get a better insight into the traumas and experiences of being falsely accused, and the wider effect of such an accusation on people's family and work life, as it would help to put a greater reality into the work.

The phone number was added just in case anyone wanted to call (hiding their number sending) to ensure their anonymity. Please leave it for a short period just in case but I may contact you in the future to get it removed if that is OK.

personal opinion - but I can't see why anyone would want to go and view for their own enjoyment and "entertainment" the absolute hell and horror and mental anguish that we've been put through and are still going through - I'm 4 and 1/2 months in to an historical allegation, have considered suicide - but didn't, and am now under the care of a Consultant Psychiatrist and Community Psychiatric Nurse, on max dose fluoxetine and daren't go anywhere without diazepam - that's my reality - and, no - you may not use it to write a play about. This life we're being put through, through no fault of our own is not "play!"

If you want to write this to highlight the increasing number of unfounded FA's, the effect on people's lives and try to do something about it, that's different - but as for using other people's hell to make yourself some money and entertain others - count me out

I second what MH said...Is your intention to highlight the hell hole of false accusation and raise awareness of the totally biased system ....or to some how glorify the horrendous situation we are or have been in ? LP

My intention is to hopefully highlight and educate. It is certainly not to make light of the situations that men find themselves in when falsely accused of rape.

I am a mature student of 44 studying a Master of Arts in Writing for Stage and Screen. The work will be part of that MA and if good enough I hope to get it produced in a bid to highlight the issue - and horrors - of false accusation. I have already earned enough money to live on, my aim now is to become a good writer.

I sincerely apologise for any distress that my request has caused. To add to any existing trauma or hurt is not my intention. To write a true account of what life is like when falsely charged with rape, is.

I'm a woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We get accused too - please do your research thoroughly before you start expecting us to do it for you.........even more now.

In fact - this is the first time I have been angry since I was "invited" to the police station in November - and now I'm actually LIVID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please add my total embarrassment to my apologies now. From a person who is just scratching the surface of this issue, and an ignorant male, I have only ever really read stories in the media about men being accused, and also publicly named, while the woman retains her anonymity. Not so much the other way around.

" Then suddenly a "mature student" hoping for god knows what at the age of 44 when people here of all ages are going thru hell and you hope for I don't know what reason when here, people's existences are at stake, people's lives are on the brink of being ruined and relationships torn apart based on FAs??? Are you being serious or do you need some kind of kick an ectasy pill may or may not give without having to take one???

I have read through whats been said, I personally think that it could be a good idea, I know most of us on here are here because we are going through hell, but i this guy wants to document some of this to show others what its like to be a victim, then it could have posative results and make people realise what hell victims of false allegations go through, it might make people think twice about accusing someone just to get at them. More and more people are falsely accused, and until this happens to you, you would never imagine the effects it has on your life, your health, your outlook. Bringing this subject up and showing people could do some good. Providing names/nicknames are protected.
Think it all through before you judge, this person isnt trying to cash in on others misfortune.
I've been accused of falsely raping another man, who I met "social networking" I am a fairly comfortable man, but i I go to court, I will have to sell my business, as I would loose my customers. If it goes to court, my life will change forever. (Should I wish to continue!)
