  • friday is d-day

I spoke to the investigating officer in my case today to ask about changing my address for the re bail, he has told me that the cps will have made a decision by then about wether to go ahead or not, i cant really say how i feel about this, on one hand i am glad its not going to drag on for months and on the other hand i am hella scared i am going to be charged for something i didnt do

i never thought i could feel so many conflicting feelings at one point

what if i get there and they decide i am guilty and dont let me out, i cant stand the thought of doing time for something i would not even think about doing

sorry for ranting guys but it came as a bit of a shock to the system today

    Hurtandconfused.

You are not ranting , you are confused.

I don't understand why you talked to the OIC today and not a solicitor?
If you did contact the police, you shouldn't reiterate.

I am trying to follow your posts but if you could continue your first thread ,it would only make things easier for others to help.

    Keep faith.
    Non,je ne regrette rien.

the trial is in 3 weeks ... i keep hoping she will tell the truth but so far my hopes are dying .... i lost everything guys ... my house my job everything

      how is this fair?

i seem to have lost faith in not just the justice system but humanity in general, does anyone else experience this...

i wont talk too much about the case as i am always worried about who is going to read it but safe to say i am just destroyed,my mental health has deserted me and i have never felt so alone

I am a tad confused here. I cannot see how you can be sent to trial three weeks after charge. Are you confusing your first appearance at Magistrates court with a trial in Crown court?

          Hurtandconfused,

Just to be clear, are you writing your posts yourself or is your housemate still writing them on your behalf? (as was previously mentioned on another thread you started)

i didnt think it was that difficult

it doesnt really matter who does the typing its still my sentiments

you are taking quotes from 2 different days, as the first post was titled ... friday was d day so i assumed that you would know that after friday i would get to know what was happening, but no doubt i was wrong on that too, i got the news last friday ie 2 days ago that i have been charged and that i am going to trial in 3 weeks

i came on this site looking for support and it seems i am not going to fit in with everyone here since every thread i have put in there has been someone complaining about what i say

thanks but i wont be back ... maybe you guys should be more accommodating with people that are new to forums and these cases in the future because the support and advice i was looking for has just not been here for me

it seems like no matter what i do i am breaking some sort of forum etiquette

you might be going to magistrate court not crown court yet, its a long procedure. I have been charged 3 weeks ago for something i didn't do it. so i know, exactly what you going through. Your actual fight starts now.

after magistrate court, you go for crown court where you just tell (your name, date of the birth and address) which is after few weeks of magistrate court day.
then you go plea where you states guilty or not guilty
              then its start trails.
so its long procedure. from getting charged to trails, it average take between 6 to 9 months. that's what my solicitor told me.

you will have legal team helping you but you should help yourself as well like gather all sort of evidence which you think, might help you.
when i got arrested and interviewed and i came home and straight away i wrote exactly what i said in the interview and wrote the whole story. because you might can forget what happened as these cases take a lot of time.
if you have solicitor, do some research about him that he is specialist in sexual offense cases, if he is not then start looking ASAP before going magistrate because you have to sign legal aid papers.

i didn't know anything about my case and the procedure before i came on this site but i have learn a lot from these peoples here on this site and they also helping you and giving you advices. so please do appreciate.

Sorry if you are feeling worse for being here. I get that sometimes too. I think people are just trying to get the facts straight before giving advice. This is all a joyless legal dance after all.

I think I have a tough skin because of some of the mums forums I go on. Trust me you have to wear body armor to post on those sites.

If you are not coming back obviously you won't read this, but here goes anyway....

Some members have picked up on glaring inconsistencies on your accounts and I queried if this is because someone else is writing your posts.

I'm going to be brutally honest; if you are indeed headed for trial the polite queries you have received here are nothing compared to the cross-examination you will have to undergo in court. The defence will pick up on any such inconsistencies in your statements and question you on them; unfortunately in that instance you won't have the option of leaving!

Far better that you remain on here and glean what help and support you can; and we won't be doing you any favours if we all we do is just make sympathetic replies.

As I said in my post, I did wonder whether he was confusing his appearance at Mag courts for 'trial'.

I've never heard of a trial (either at Mag or Crown) being heard three weeks after charge. On rare occasions three months (and then only if it's a guilty plea so not trial in any event).

PCMH (Plea and Case Management) usually takes a few months, longer than three especially if it is a not guilty plea.

I'm sure you're right, and the confusion may just down to communication; Hurtandconfused previously wrote:
