So, first time posting on here

Husbands trial starts soon, won't say too much more but starting to find it harder to deal with. Arguably he is dealing with it better than me at the moment, wish I could be better at being there for him, but he seems to be propping me up at the moment. Terrified of losing him, we have a 14 month old daughter and I don't know how I'd cope without him. This has been going on for over a year now (first came to light when our little girl was less than 2 weeks old - doesn't get much more stressful than that!)

Both his solicitor and barrister are 'confident' of a NG - but I guess they have to say that don't they?? There is no evidence except statements, and we have provided evidence of continued contact up until nearly 18 months after the alleged event.

Sorry guys, head is all a bit blurry now, just hoping for some encouraging thoughts

Welcome to the forum, I'm sorry you find yourself on here but you'll find this is a great site for support and advice. My son was in a situation of no evidence, only statements (though no complaint ) and was found not guilty a couple of weeks ago, so let's hope the same goes for your husband. As the judge said in his summing up 'it's for the prosecution to bring forward evidence of someone's guilt, not for the defendant to give evidence of his innocence'. That's the way the justice system is supposed to work.
It can be very hard supporting someone who has been FA'd and with a small child it must be really rough, I really sympathise - could it be that your husband's accuser was jealous of your having a baby?
It does sound as though your legal team are on the ball and I wouldn't knock their optimism. The next few days will be harrowing, a rollacoaster of emotions - you'll both needto stay on the ball and keep your strength and moral up.
Keep strong and come back on here for support or advice whenever you need to.

His solicitor and barrister are 'confident' of a NG an if you have provided evidence of continued contact up until a year and a half after the alleged event...
I just hope this will be sufficient evidence for a specialised (or experienced) solicitor and barrister.
Your husband should find mental strength during his trial for your daughter.

Did you read the disclosure from his case?
If you did ,you may as well go in the court room with him.

He won't have the choice but to answer frankly for his defence and against the prosecution.

We are on legal aid, if we could have afforded to fund it ourselves we would have hired Chris Saltrese (as he is meant to be the best of the best!)

Its great to hear that it is a good sign that our legal team are confident, it is in writing as well. Have got final conference with counsel next week so hopefully that will help as at least we will be prepared. I am a witness for hubby's defence as I knew the accuser.

Furious doesn't even come close to how I feel at times, at the end of the day my daughter could lose her daddy because of this. But justice will prevail thank you so much for everybody's support so far

PS - looking forward to bananas!

There were a few 'supply chain issues' with the bananas but as far as I am led to believe these have been resolved. PLENTY of them bulging at the lid ready to be dished out.

At the stage you guys are at there will not be a great deal of help or advice you will need from us. We're all here though and will be throughout. If you get worried or confused or just want to share info then we're here and more than willing to help, reassure and then at the end throw bananas at you!
