Unfortunately you can never tell. One guys whose appeal succeeded just before Christmas was remanded into custody twice before his trial and he is 72! He was not a flight risk but the police claimed he was suicidal, which he was not.

Please do not take anything for granted.

May I make a recommendation, that indeed I recommend to everyone on here.

Buy and read the following book:

I have just finished reading it. I believe, being falsely accused myself, that so much within the book will help. Remember that it IS a story though... It will not assist greatly with your present situation but it will take your mind of things at the very least for a temporary basis.

I would highly recommend simply reading.

As for your IT career. I see no issues for your future BUT do not do anything at the moment, wait until the present mess is tidied up. If you have any opportuinities for some self-employed work then pursue them.

I am sorry you find yourself here but over time you will no doubt begin to realise your own situation is not one of despair and depression. It is so utterly common with so many different twists and turns. The cops, solicitors and courts make a fortune from it! CICA are paying out fortunes in compensation as well. Everyone is getting rich apart from those that find themselves wrongly and falsely accused. For us it's 'be grateful and crawl back into the woodwork' if we don't end up in jail...

Steve22, I think by now you have got the idea that the great british police force are not to be trusted. They are only looking to prove your guilt and are not intersted in anything else. The CPS are also only intersted in keeping their jobs by putting as many people in prison as they can - Inocent or Guilty, they simply do not care. Thats the facts now the reality.

You need to stay focused and start to fight back, everything you can think off needs to be written down,facebook, texts, anything at all. Get a good solicitor and let them decide what is relevant. There is no point saying anything about not letting this control your life because it will, morning,noon and night but you have to learn to focus that anger on the fight ahead and not self pity or it will consume you. Use this forum to vent your feeling as many of us on here have been in similar situations.
