I have been on bail now for over a year. I went to a party and a couple weeks after I get arrested for sexual assault I haven't got a clue at this point. I never had a solicitor for the police interview as I thought it would just slow the process down because I thought there must of been some sort of mistake, but in the interview it turns out a under age girl is accusing me of sexual assault. In the interview they are asking about the party so I tell them every thing that happend to my knowlage because im confused and that I know I haven't done any rong doing. The girl who I don't even know and never heard of has two witness's to this alligation the officer tells me. After the interview i thought they would realise that they have either got the rong pearson or realise im inoccent. Instead I get conditional bail not to contact these three girls who I don't even know. Since this I have had been thretend by this girls family or people she knows and had to answer bail every month with out any NFA or a court date. Before this nightmare occerd I used to work and just go out on the weekend but to cope with it because I was so depressed I started to drink alot more frequintly and ended up losing my job. At this point I went off the rails and I got drunk near enough every day. One night I caused havoc and done two months in prison for criminal damage. Since coming out of prison I haven't had a drop of alchol and now looking for another job. These alligations against me have ruined my life I just want it all to end so I can move on with my life. Any advice would be much appriciated.

A year is a long time to be bailed without charge.
You don't know the girl who made the allegation, and you have no idea why she made it, right? Have you been asked to take part in an ID parade; has your DNA been taken?
I completely understand why you would go off the rails, but it really isn't a good idea. You need to be above reproach.
Did you keep a record of the threats from her family? If so this could be very helpful.
Others will be along soon with more advice. In the meantime, welcome.

In the interview I offerd to give DNA if possible but nothing was mentioned about ID parade and the girls seemed to know my name and all clothing i was wearing on the night but all that proves I was at the party wich im not dening to the police, also one of my freinds whent to the police station to give a statement. I just can't see why people would make up such stories like this! What do you think would be the most likely out come of the situation ?

Hello and welcome New118.
Well done for leaving the bottle and for looking for a job.
I found it strange also that you have been more than a year on bail and some members will
help you a bit more.
Do you know the person who organised the party, does he or she knows about it?
It is normal that you cannot contact any of these three girls and it is safer for all of you.
One of your friend made a statement to the police, was it for or against you?
(I know it might be strange but who knows?)
Did anyone witness anything except these 3 girls and your friend.
It is up to you but if you could give a little bit more details...without being specific.
Did you drink this evening, how many people, how did you meet this girl,
Or only one simple question, did you have any kind of contact with her?
Remember a few things you must stay strong and act within the law otherwise...
I wish you all the best regarding jobseeking.
Take care.Non,je ne regrette rien.

You've shown up in the right place. Most people on here have been through the turmoil, or are going through it, and are here to help. Everyone deals with their issues in different ways and although it may not excuse the criminal damage it is understandable what you have done. You've also done your time and come back out the other side on a positive note. Well done and work on keeping that positivity.
You're probably wondering how you are supposed to keep to your bail conditions of not approaching these females if you don't know what they look like? Aren't we all! I don't have a clue what my accuser looks like as I never paid any attention to her yet I find myself facing a more serious charge than yourself. It'd be helpful if the Police actually produced a photo of the accuser when you're agreeing to the bail conditions so that you know what she looks like!
Again, the Police will be focusing on 'details' and if her and her friends have provided lots of details then the Police might be inclined to pursue it a little more than if it's a blank wall. These people could very well know you extremely well yet you don't know them, it's a strange world out there. I have difficulty remembering faces and names and I imagine that this is only made more difficult if I've been drinking, maybe you are the same?
If you had drunk a LOT then 'maybe you did or maybe you didn't' will no doubt be running through your mind. You've had more than long enough to consider and 'remember' what may have happened and if you are still adamant that you didn't then most likely you didn't. What you've also possibly had time to consider is possible reasons for a false allegation. Society has changed dramatically over the past decade and the reasons for making accusations are numerous, attempt to consider that you may only be fall out or collateral damage on the way to your accuser making some money, for instance.
Do you have a legal team? If you do what are they saying?
Another thing to consider is whether or not it's worth 'rocking the boat'. Starting to chase up the allegation just now may prompt a court case rather than an NFA. It's a cruel world out there and although you are suffering at the moment is it worth bringing more suffering or sitting quiet for another few months? The Police/prosecution won't have forgotten about you, they'll be watching how you progress, evaluating evidence, taking direction from the appeals court cases/High Court/Government on what is possible for prosecuting strategies. You may find that with the Olympics not far off now that many cases are forgotten about/dismissed/NFA'd either due to the extremely busy year/budget cuts/terrorist attacks etc. Bide your time a little more, hang out on here and gather info and then see what the future holds for you. I know that nobody likes waiting but I would strongly advise that unless you have a legal team that can 'gently' enquire about what is happening then your best course of action at moment is to find a job and move on with life as if all of this never happened yet educate yourself enough to deal with whatever 'might' happen.Wow... A signature option!

As Saffron says, a year is a long time to be on bail.Possibly been delayed by the partially connected criminal damage charge, which, unfortunately, may be used against you.
You must ensure you are prepared for the fight once (IF) a charge comes. This must be a solicitor specialised in dealing with contesting cases of sexual crimes.
Post up your county if you like...we might be able to reccommend someone."Be sure your sin will find you out"

Thanks for the comments really appriciate it. My freind gave a statement on my behalf I just told him to tell the truth. Before I had abit of a reputation for being abit of an idiot whilst intoxicated, however I know im not capable of such crime even though I have had other convictions I probly have about five different convictions for criminal damage and one for common assault, all drink related and have paid the price for my actions which I should of but im not going to admit something i haven't done. Once this charge occerd it made me worse because I know for a fact I never done it. I have now seeked help for abusing alchol and have proff, but im worrid that my previous behaviour will presue a case against me. Do you think this case will go as far as court ? Also I have spoke to my solicoter wich defended me on other crimes and i've explained the current situation about this case and he whants to come and answer bail with me but im now reconsidering this, what do you think? any help would be much appriciated thanks.

Well you certainly need a solicitor to answer bail with you...it would be up to you whether the solicitor who is offering is the person you want to be there.
Unfortunately we can't answer whether we think it will get to court. Some which I never thought could do...and some which I thought really should have don't."Be sure your sin will find you out"
