  • Defendant Costs Order

    Hey guys,

I'm back but this time to ask a question on claiming back my expenses. The trial judge made a Defendant's Cost Order but I have no idea on how to do this. I have written to my solicitor but I haven't heard anything back.

Is there a time limit on this? What forms do I have to fill out?

    Thanks

I have an idea that if the judge made the order you do nothing and wait to be reimbursed via the courts. Check with the solicitor though, not by email by by phone or letter so you get a response in writing. Emails can be accidentally deleted or end up in unchecked spam filters.

The judge made an order but I've been informed, a couple of days after the last day of the trial, my solicitor informed me that I had to make an application to the court and not via my solicitor. RF, are you aware of what form I would need to fill in and is there a time limit. I don't think ill be automatically reimbursed as its been about 4 months!

      Thanks

Contact the court and ask them then!
