if they're offering a plea bargain now, to me that sounds as if they're panicking they may lose a conviction.
Hang in there, sometimes juries aren't as dumb as they look!
And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the world. Then made the world round .... and laughed and laughed and laughed ..
still hearing prosecutions case....they are making him out to be a total monster. The penetration girl has padded her story out further and is claiming he has been abusing her for 4 years now. 2008 been mentioned but she cant remember if it was june...or january My partner terrified as obviously he cant prove where he was if he does not know when the alledged incidents took place.
She had about 10 mins of cross examination (aggressive not allowed as she self harming) and defence barrister had 5 points on defence just on that limited time. she turned the tears on and it got adjourned till tomorrow. She was tripping herself up on the simplest questions claiming she did not understand.
The prosecution is claiming she got the crime scene wrong as she is traumatised. My partner got offered another plea bargin...18 months and the register which he again refused. I am freaking out now Oh by the way...everything they done to me and the kids is not being used. How the heck does this justice system work? I am so worried now....what do you do if your partner is convicted but you know it to be false? How do i deal with the authorities? Any PM advice would be very much appreciated.
Yes, why are they offering a plea bargain indeed?? Hang in there traumatisedrose; it is just the beginning and am sure your defense team will have enough ammunition. All these holes in their story can be used.
How unfair that what these people do to you and your family are left out of the court.. why?? it is so unfair
Sending you strength and courage vibes! and a big hug!
Offering another plea bargain after the trial has started? Sounds like they are worried.....and any conviction is better than no conviction, as far as the CPS are concerned.
Courage and Strength, Rose. Thinking of you.
Oh, I'm so sorry that this has not gone your way TraumatisedRose. I have no advice to offer I'm afraid. What sort of thing was the barrister not allowed to bring to the court's attention. Could any of this be used for an appeal?
Kind wishes to you
Jen
False Accusers Beware: You have chosen to dine at the Karma Cafe. There is no menu: you will just get what you deserve.
I am so very sorry to read this - juries are fickle. I'm also sorry that there is no chance of appeal and that your family has been blown apart.
Others will be along soon with more practical advice for you.

Traumatisedrose i am so sorry to hear what you said, please do not give up hope, RF will be able to advise on what you can do. My suggestion is that you get a second opinion on an appeal, RF has said many times that people are told that they cannot appeal by one barrister only to be told that they can by another.
i would suggest that if one of them admitted they lied then this may be grounds for appeal, likewise the fact that they have made your life hell. Good Luck, please dont give up
I'm so, so sorry, this is terrible news.
Please do think about consulting a different legal team regarding an appeal. I believe RF's Solicitor Chris will undertake appeal work on Public Funding - perhaps you could give him a call.

My word, I'm so sorry for this terrible news.
It will all be very raw right now, but soon you will be able to start picking up the pieces, dust yourself down and get ready for the next fight
I echo previous advice for you to seek alternate advice regarding grounds for appeal. Chris Saltrese is a wonderful option; you won't find a more experienced appeals solicitor in sexual crime related cases than him.
In the meantime, please try and make the most of your support networks (including here, friends, family and medical professionals)
You WILL get through this.
