      Hi Nom,

sorry to hear you have not met with Paul Jenkins. We have not met Tony yet. I think it is part of their job to inform us all of the consequences; though I cant remember Paul talking to us about it only after my partner was charged.

It is down to the CPS really at this point; but you can start collecting data, evidences that could help you if charges are brought forward. Getting to know more the accuser,if you don't know her that well and trying to understand possible motivations.

Approaching JNP has helped us a lot because my partner has been rebailed for four months before the police started getting statements. If we have not changed to JNP; I dont know when the police will do some investigation.

Yes, it is unbelievable how one can be arrested without evidence; just a statement from the accuser Do take care of yourself. How many more weeks into the bail?

Just by way of a little reassurance:
The barrister has a legal obligation to inform you of the possible sentence should you be convicted. He should also inform you that the sentence would most likely be reduced by a third should you plead guilty early on. This does not mean that he thinks you are guilty or that you will get convicted. He has to give you this information by law. Please don't be alarmed by it.

          Keep Faith

Saffron is right,it is the duty of the solicitor and barrister to inform you about the worse case scenario,it doesn't mean that this person is guilty.
Before being charged (once again I do not hope) you must find any reason (motive) why there is an accusation (revenge,jealousy,money,...)
Then you must remember as many details as possible about the leading to the rape allegation.Important dates, places, positions, reactions from the woman who claim for it.Did he know her well or not?
Time will seem long with up and downs but use it proactively.
          Take care.
          Non,je ne regrette rien.

My thoughts are with your family member. I hope his hell comes to an end sooner rather than later. While bail is ongoing just be productive by building as detailed a picture of the relationship and circumstances as possible. Where, when, why in as fine a detail as is possible making your best efforts.
