yes, our solicitor got information that the accuser also reported being raped a couple of years back and they put it in the defense statement; requesting for more information on that previous allegation. Also, the accuser made an allegation of rape when she was younger and she admitted to a friend that it was a joke and she didnt mean for it to go far. That friend has also given her statement to our solicitor and willing to appear in court.

I was about to answer fighter when I realised this is Daki's thread - her latest answer appears on this new page (well it does on my screen!) so I thought this at first was her thread until I arrived.

Daki, your barrister will surely be making strenuous efforts to obtain this information if the previous false allegations were made to the police. I am sure that Gerry will keep you informed as and when information comes in but please donot be tempted to ring every day as disclosure will only come through as a steady trickle if the Crown do not have a very strong case.

She sounds like Tania Griffiths QC who works with solicitor Chris. She is the same - a veritable rottweiler! Unfortunately as Chris is a one-man band he cannot afford to undertake trials on public funding as he would only get paid for a fraction of the time he spends on his cases.

It seems that Gerry McDonald and Julia are Chris and Tania's publicly funded counterparts!

I wonder if you could find out which areas Gerry and Julia extend to so I can add them to my own personal recommendation list for various areas?

Public funding will only stretch for sols who are within a certain catchment area, I believe. LSC won't pay out for travelling and overnight expenses for a sol although I think barristers are paid differently.

Gerry may well work nationally privately funded but it may be a different matter if he had to travel a hundred miles or so....

I know he is based in North London so I will list him as one of the best publicly funded sols within say 50 miles and hopefully that net is not cast too wide.

I called Chris Saltrese but these cases are very pricy Thank God Jerry does legal aid
