I can understand you wanting to try anything at this stage but before spending the money consider what you want them to investigate.

Were you hoping they might find something detrimental to the accuser? If so unless there is a direct link to the case the judge may well rule the findings as inadmissible.

On the other hand if they find she has made a previous false accusation this would be extremely useful.

In any case, I would recommend running this past Gerry before going ahead.

That's what they said to me aswell it's just that they said

Police might not disclose any false accusations if she

                Wasn't charged for making them

You are right would have to wait to see what Gerry says

You may have a problem if you are claiming public funding, if you intend to pay for the PI privately. You cannot do both.

You might get public funding to pay for a PI but it is unlikely due the cuts, unless the sol/barrister can put together a good argument so they can claim for this.

By the way Crown Intelligence are very good and I can recommend them.

is hiring a private detective the only way if you can find out if the have falsely accused before.

That's what I've read as the police can not be

Trusted to disclose information that undermines their case or

                        Strengthens yours

From what I understand the police would disclose convictions

And charges but not court appearances and accusations

The police don't want you to be not guilty don't forget

                            They aren't on your side

Defence can request such info from the Crown who have to disclose any false allegations made officially to the police. If false allegations were made where the police were not involved then obviously they won't hold any information.
