  • son's trial NOT GUILTY

I wanted to let you know that my son finally got found NOT GUILTY today. The jury had to go on a majority in the end as they could not reach a decision. Finally at 4pm we were given the verdit. Even my son's barrister, who I cant praise enough, was astonished. Not by the verdict but because at 3pm the jury had written another note to the judge asking if he could give them some 'guidance', this being the 3rd note he received from them, but from the fact of what exactly was going on. I honestly thought it would be guilty because as far as I was concerned it wasn't a fair trial for my son.
Today justice was done but my heart goes out to the many men who never recieved their justice. This has been 16 months of sheer hell for our family and all because some stupid idiot decided to make up a lie.
While I am aware that there are many honest victims of rape ,and it is a dispicable thing for any child/women/man to go through, there are also be many innocent men like my son who are accused of it and are totally innocent.

janerose that is wonderful news - I'm really happy for you all.

Just be aware that once the euphoria has worn off - you may feel really down again. But its all normal!!!

    Well done for commonsense!

And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the world. Then made the world round .... and laughed and laughed and laughed ..

Thank God the nightmare is over!

Be prepared for emotions to come to the surface as a result of the hell you have all gone through with your son.

Your son will have a peace denied to his false accuser due to the fact his conscience is clear and forever will be but her's is not and never will be.

Fantastic news. As RFLH said, the euphoria will wear off and you'll have the whole range of emotions from anger to despair. Just take a breather and realise it's over.

The main thing is that he's FREE.

That is excellent News, i am so pleased for you, Take it easy, the tiredness will hit you like a brick when the euphoria wears off. You will bounce back quite quickly and you will probably feel quite angry at his accuser, the police, the cps, quite normal. try not to dwell on it too much, and keep coming back if you need support
