I agree with Amre and Tarzan.
As someone whose husband had a "dalliance" and found himself in your situation, I can categorically state that I was more p1ssed off with him for not telling me. He kept it a secret for 3 months. Yes I wasn't happy about the infidelity, but at the end of the day the injustice of what was happening far outweighed that.
And actually, it brought us closer and ultimately made us stronger.
    Food for thought I hope.

been to the police today i have been rebailed till i get back from my tour. they havent told me anything just that it is still ongoing they was waiting for my facebook report to come back and all the evidance is going to a specialist loyar or something to be looked at and that they decide if there is a case to go to court. Now i have to concentrate on my job and bring me and all 14 lads in my care home safe...

Mate that is totally shocking!! So you have to go on tour with that over your head iam seriously thinking that this country is not worth fighting for. I guess the only thing you can try to do is not think about it and concentrate on the big wedge of cash that you will come back with and the knowledge that if anything does happen to you or any of your blokes some of the blood will be on her hands!!! Im gutted for you mate. But still i spose its better than being charged. Ill keep you posted on my situation.

Hi there, would having all this false allegation s**t hanging over you compromise your thoughts at all when you are on active service, or will concentrating on keeping you and the other troops safe help you to stop brooding on it?

I really think that you should tell your Mrs. I would be livid if this was kept from me - but I guess you know her best. She may turn out to be really supportive, afterall she probably knows you better than anyone and would know you would not rape anyone.

            Just my opinion

            Kind Regards
            Jen

Im glad the friend i told is here with me or i might of gone out of my mind by now my poor mum has been put on anti depresents. when i went for my bail the officer who was there told me he might be takin over the case as the officer who interviewd me is leaving so that will be the 3rd officer is this normal. They told me the paper work had been sent off to whoever it is who dicides if it should go to court but that was in october/november time i hope it ends soon. anyone got any advice for me please..

The length of time on bail is not an indication of the way the case is going.
I've seen these rape cases go on for as long as 18months before the person got charged.

The Police never usually provide you or your Solicitor much of an update as to how the case is going.

In terms of police bail and trying to save wasted trips to the police station only to be given a notification of being rebailed. A couple of days before you are due back speak to your solicitor to 'remind' them to chase the Officer in the Case to see what the likely outcome will be. If you will be rebailed then get them to request they send the notice out in the post.
Whilst most clients in your situation want the case to be concluded they release by the 5th to the 10th bail back what a waste of time it is.

In terms of bail conditions your solicitor will be able to apply to have them relaxed. Firstly to the custody sergeant if they disagree, to apply to court themselves. There is next to zero chance of them removing non-contact conditions or not to go to her address.

But if the police have imposed restrictive conditions like signing on at police stations or curfews then those ARE likely to be successful. Remember for the moment you not convicted on any offence and as such lengthy use of restrictive bail conditions (apart from non-contact, not to goto an address) can be an abuse of process as they interfere with your human rights.
Hope this post helps. But this post does not constitute legal advice, nor a contract/agreement for it.
