My nightmare is still continuing but I do have another question.

I cant go into specific details but if my accuser committed a serious offence in their home country and because of that fleed to the UK to live in my house to avoid prosecution, do you think that is going to harm their account of events against me?

The allegations against me are from the years before this individual came to live in my house. Of course I have already said why would anyone say what they have about me and then come and live with me?

This would be classed as "bad character". I know that in the UK these details would have to be given to the defence and may or may not be used, depending on the circumstances - for instance if the bad character related to dishonesty or fraud.....

I am in the UK so it would be relevant here.

The offence in question involved a stabbing of an individual, pretty serious. Could that be used as bad character evidence if this matter ever went to court.

I still find it odd that I havent been arrested after six months, still stuck in limbo.

It would be up to the barrister should the matter go to trial. Do you mean you have not been charged (as opposed to arrested)?

You cannot expect us to remember what you have said before especially if you have not been back to update, refer to a previous thread or support others on here.

People who do not post often tend to get lost by the wayside. You get what you put in on here....


I can't remember the story, I don't know if you contacted the police after hearing you were being accused or whether they turned up and asked you to attend voluntarily, so I cannot answer the question.

I have to say that I am surprised you have not been arrested after all this time - why don't you ask the duty solicitor - if you had one, who attended the voluntary interview?

Thanks for the reply RF. Totally forgot that there are many people posting on here. I didnt mean that I expected you to remember my case though.

An allegation was made relating to an historic incident. I was interviewed back in January and since then I have not been reinterviewed or arrested but I still work in a job in which part relates to child protection. I am a little confused by it all.

I always thought that the police arrested in cases such as this.

Apologies if I came across a bit terse - I often get contacted by people who then do not respond to my reply for months on end and they then come back to me expecting to remember everything and give them an answer.......

Did you have a duty sol with you at interview? If you did you could ask them to ask the police what they intend doing.......

No problem RF I should have been a bit clearer in my message.

I am seeing a SOL on wednesday and will see what he says. All i know is that the case is going upto the DI shortly.

Like I said I always thought that after six months I would have been at least arrested. Just surprised i still dont know what is going on.

Just a quick update was in family court last week and despite the police investigation seemingly ongoing the judge awarded me direct unsupervised contact with my children as soon as possible.

I have been informed by the Police that the file was reviewed by an Inspector and has now been sent to a Detective Chief Inspector so I am hopeful I will get a result soon.

I cant wait to see my kids!!!

After seven long months I today received the phone call I had been waiting for. It is to tell me I was going to be NFA. I think I will need a beer tonight although feel a bit numb.
