  • Alleged victim's character

Hello, I'm new to this site and am hoping that someone can advise. My boyfriend of two years was accused at the end of January this year. After months of being bailed, he was recently charged with rape by forcing her to perform oral sex on him. At the time he was working as a doorman at a nightclub and this was supposed to have happened when he was sweeping the building at the end of the night. Anyway, to cut a long story short, he has heard that this girl apparently works as an escort. He thinks this information will help him. I say not. What do you think?

It's totally irrelevant, and almost certainly wouldn't be admissible. What a person does or doesn't do for a living is irrelevant to an accusation.

Thank you for that. I thought as much. When I suggested it to him, he wasn't impressed, but I feel that we have to be realistic.

It makes no difference what she does for a living. An escort /prostitute is still at liberty to refuse sex and if that refusal is ignored and the man goes on to have sex with her, then that is rape.
