    "And being acquitted" = if that happens of course. Too many innocent people are sitting in a prison cell right now convicted of sexual offences that never happened.

      I agree with RF and LS.
      It's a shame you reported it to the police, but you can't change that. My advice would be to just leave it and wait to see what happens.
      Good luck. I know how horrible it is having this hanging over you, and any normal person would think that reporting a false allegation to the police is the right thing to do. Unfortunately it can land you in a whole heap of trouble.

        Now you have gone this far the best thing I can suggest is to keep a running diary of everything you are doing from now on and also try to make notes as you think of things, about the alleged assault, times, places etc, who you were with - just in case it comes back to bite you on the bum.
