Just wondering how long the jury deliberated in people's cases that went to Crown?

I know that it is often not very long particularly if it is on a friday afternoon and they don't want to come back on monday. Every case is different and every jury is different. Some just want to get home, others care what happens so there is no normal time. I know that isn't very helpful but it really does just depend.
Hope you are holding up ok and taking care of yourself as well as your husband."I dreamt I went to the doctor's and she gave me eight minutes to live. I'd been sitting in the f**king waiting room half an hour." Sarah Kane (4.48 Psychosis)

Thanks The trial is looking 3-4 days so hopefully may be 'sorted' before the weekend! Just doing very boring things such as writing to all his debtors just to ask if they will freeze interest/repayments in case the worse happens and writing everything down to buy for the ugly bag! Every time I try to talk about it I get my head bitten off.

I guess everyone just deals with things in different ways and ignoring the situation may be the best way for him even if being proactive is the best way for you. It must be awful doing all those things. Lets just hope it turns out they were all unnecessary."I dreamt I went to the doctor's and she gave me eight minutes to live. Different case but mine spent one afternoon and a bit of the following morning "deliberating" before coming back with a 10-2 majority verdict of guilty, when the evidence clearly showed otherwise.
The fact they'd strung out what was a stupidly obvious case for so long deliberating, and then coming to the wrong verdict, indicated to me that it's irrelevant how long they take if you've a got a jury made up of idiots.

^agreed. A couple of hours on a friday afternoon and the thought of a nice cuppa in front of the tv was enough for the jury in my case to just go with not guilty (probably because only one person had an opinion).
Just thought I would add that me and LS were unlucky. Lots of people do get the right verdict and a jury that care."I dreamt I went to the doctor's and she gave me eight minutes to live. I'd been sitting in the f**king waiting room half an hour." Sarah Kane (4.48 Psychosis)

Juries are a complete lottery.
Our jurors deliberated for about 15 minutes (even though the judge had spent 45 minutes summing up) before coming back with a Guilty verdict. I don't believe for one second that they actually thought about the "evidence" at all. Well, it would have been tough to consider evidence because there was only her word versus his. They simply had to decide who was telling the truth. And let's face it, no normal person would fabricate an allegation like this, would they?
And yes, it was a Friday afternoon.

I've known a jury be out for 45 mins before coming back with the verdict (either way) and also for a few days. Nobody can know.People Appealing Convictions of Sexual Offences ~http://www.pacso.co.uk
