Retrieving seized property from police

Hi guys,

I know this is a very minor issue from what many of you are going through but I was wondering how I am supposed to obtain my property back from the police?
It's been over a week since my conditional discharge for criminal damage and I've asked my solicitor to get my phone back. Yet they've just said we're waiting for the OIC to authorise this and they have emailed them.

Is there anything else I can do? I'm prepared to give them a fortnight but I have the feeling I'm being messed around

I've known it take several months W&C so try not to worry. Remember the police are dealing with hundreds of false allegations a year, as well as the genuine complaints so they can't help but take time.

My sol told me once everything is all over then they no longer have any legal rights to hold it. Ring your sol and get them to send a letter to police then go into station and ask to speAk to inspector and complain your phone is been held illegally

Update

Had a phone call yesterday from the police about my phone. My dad took the call but they didn't leave any number or anything to ring back on.

I told my solicitor this and he said he's still waiting for a release code from the OIC.

Is this really necessary now? I think this is all getting lost in bureaucracy

Sorry W&C but this is all par for course. It's easy to shout about "human rights" but the truth of it is, it takes some time to get your stuff back.

My brother wants his clothes back they have kept hold of. Have you got your stuff back yet?
I told my brother that it might not happen that quick.
He had to go out & buy new trainers because they kept hold of those too.

Went to police station today and just got it back.

Just going through my text messages and I'm quite confident I could get her done for PCJ as it is totally obvious she consented and is even advocating using condoms at the time of the allegations.

I am not a vindictive person though so I won't be doing this. My case is over now but I would still like to help out with the board
