I have now been on bail sice June 2010. The date for my return is early 2011.
When i was last re-bailed the OIC wouldnt really tell me the reason for the extension and invited me in for a further interview if there was anything i wished to dicuss. I politely declined as per the advice i have been given. I have already strongly refuted the allegations in my original interview.
My solicitor had a word with the police who told him while they do sympathise with my situation my laptop is still waiting for forensic analysis. They cant tell him where it is in the process but this seems like all they are waiting for until this can be sorted.
I know there is nothing on my laptop apart from uni work and general internet browsing. Yes i have viewed pornographic material which i freely admitted to the OIC at interview. Which young guy hasnt? Nothing out of the ordinary though.
I volunteered this laptop to the police at interview as it hadnt been in my possession since 2008....when i finished uni i gave it to my nephew for school work. Im kinda wishing i hadnt now due to the delay but i wanted to be as transparent as possible.
What does this mean for me? im hoping that it means the matter will be sorted once and for all when the laptop comes back. The OIC did say my sol that he would get in touch with me if anything happens earlier.
Its my birthday this week and Christmas. What a hollow one it will be.
